hi all,

BTM is my absolute favourite ride ever, in the history of ever, so much so ive infected my whole family with my addiction to it :lovestruc, on one day in our last trip we rode it 9 times :woohoo: i plan on beating that record in december. BTM is THE family ride for us, we all love it so much :lovestruc

however, after 4 years of trying to conceive #3 and one long awaited appoinment for ivf, we have somehow managed to become successfully pg with a little surprise beany . ( i reckon it was the shock of seeing the fee for ivf!) lol

so when we go in december i will be just 16 weeks pg, ive only a tiny little belly at the moment and im not expecting to be much bigger in 4 weeks time so size wont be an issue.

will safety be an issue though?

is btm too throw abouty for me or do ye think it would be ok? ive been thinking it over for ages and i really cant think of any part of the ride that could cause any harm :confused3, maybe make me throw up but im doing that anyway , but there's no tight constraints, no loop de loops or otherwise, as far as i can make out i or my little baba won't be in any danger. i'd hate to miss it, miss sharing the experience with my family, but obviously i don't want to put myself in harms way!

any input from you wise ones is muchly appreciated :thumbsup2

ps. btm is about as thrilling as it gets for us, no space mountain or crush etc!

Unfortunately he official line is that BTM is not suitable if you're pregnant due to the speed, forces and stops etc.

According to the website, you are "strongly advised" not to ride - it's not quite the worst of the "keep away" levels (e.g. space mountain is described as "totally unsuitable") but it's definitely not recommended by disney.

Sorry :flower3:

ok i don't like your reply, im gonna ignore it now and wait for one that agrees with me :thumbsup2

kidding ;) ,

yeah i was trying to remember if it was one of the rides that had that written on the rules poster, darn :headache:

you can still get shaken about on BTM - I definitely wouldnt advise it. You have waited 4 yrs for this baby and spent a fortune on IVF do you really want to risk it?

aww the shaking! i'd forgotten about the shaking :sad2: i was only thinking of it going fast and up n down etc etc....

see thats why i asked you guys, :thumbsup2

no way would i risk anything iasw, at the mo im afraid to so much as cough :scared1:! im a great follower of better to be sure than sorry :thumbsup2 i was just running through the btm route in my head and couldn't think of anything harmful, hence my query, because i wanted to check out if there was any risk i hadn't thought of.

ive already ruled out almost all rides, i think it was just wishful thinking about btm because we love it so much :sad2:

ah well, one vicarious trip coming up :rotfl:

Rosie, I'd stick to the rides you could bring a baby on tbh. There's more than you'd think, I brought DD2 on Phantom Manor, Peter Pan, Snow White etc when she was 12 weeks old. Admittedly she slept through a lot of them but there were no sudden jerky movements to wake her up.

OTOH, my 8 year old went around BTM screaming "stop it, I want to get off!!!" last month.

And can I finally say Congratulations? Delighted for you all :D

Oooohhhh ooooohhhh ooooohhhh CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Fantastic news!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame about BTM but it will still be there for your next trip - you can use baby switch!! :rotfl2:

Congratulations!!! Thats great news!:goodvibes I agree with everyone else though I think BTM is one to miss this trip it is a bit aggresive in places! I'm sure you will still have a wonderful trip - spend the time you would have spend on BTM buying cute clothes and nursery bits and bobs for your new arrival!!

Congratulations!

Now you have the perfect reason to stock up on cute Disney baby toys while you're there!

I bought some lovely gender neutal sleepsuits- WTP and Thumper one time, and they were soo cute. I'm keeping them, even though my son has outgrown them. Hopefully there'll be a few bits and pieces for you to start buying :goodvibes

I had quite a few photos of me pg with DS2 taken while we were at WDW, and I added them to his baby memories book, coz technically, it was his first Disney trip! LOl!

Congratulations on the good news!!! :dancer:

I have three daughters myself ( Age 5, 3, 1 years ) And they are the best thing that ever happened to me

I am so chuffed for you that the ivf worked and all is looking well!!

Just think about it this way, When you have your little one and he/she reaches 5/6 you will be able to take him/her on BTM then.

:cool1::love::cloud9: CONGRATULATIONS what fantastic news!!!! I agree with everyone else... I wouldn't go on anything you couldn't bring a small baby on.. But there is so much you can do. AND....the shopping for a baby in DLP.. I have done that, and doing it again this time round FABULOUS :cloud9:

Awwwwww thank you all so much :goodvibes

And thank you for pointing out several things I hadn't thought of, like shopping for Disney baby goodies and return visit with our new addition :cool1: but the one I really like is that this will be baby's first trip to dlp :lovestruc

Thanks guys I don't feel so bad about missing btm :thumbsup2
