Bsod?!?Closed, VMK Down 2-2-07

At least POTC is working again so I can get more codes. I'd like some more of the monkey skeleton candelabras! After a while the BSOD gives this little error message "There is no connection please try again."

I have this bad feeling that if I get impatient and go play Sims2 instead I'll miss when it's finally working again. If only I hadn't seen the Host pin. I wouldn't be so rabid to get it. We'll have more times this month to win it I hope.

Edit- Oh Grumpy Disney Dad that would be a dream come true!

Actually it was a commercial too. All sorts of bands and singers would be on Mtv commercials saying "I WANT MY MTV!" It was a huge thing. I remember Cindy Lauper and David Lee Roth were the funniest.

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. I used to love the Phil Collins one where he's say "I want my MTV" in his very British accent.

That was a song, not a commercial, called Money For Nothing by Dire Straits.

This was different from the song. When MTV first went on the air, it had all these commercials with famous performers saying "I want my MTV" in their cool accents. I think the commercials came before the song, although the song was great too.

You might have to give it a minute or two for it to change Debbie801. I get the row of x's at first but within two minutes it changes into a code rather than the "error" I was getting the previous time I checked.

Edit to say: yep. I played the Silversun Pickup's "Lazy Eye" video and then the clips ran after that.

I just had a thought, what do kids do that are not on a site like this and just play VMK. The sit there the whole time wondering if there is something wrong with their computer. And I know enough to wait till some one tells me it is back up. But those poor kids just clicking away for hours wow.

MTV started their "I Want My MTV" Promotion during the early 80s. They got various musicians of the day to be in commercials encouraging people to call their local cable companies and ask for, neh!, to demand that they add MTV to their channel line up (ie to call and shout "I Want My MTV"). You see when MTV went on the air in 1981 most cable companies didn't offer it. That was back in the day when cable only had like 30 channels or less (not like the 300+ nowadays). Money For Nothing by the Dire Straits was a song inspired by the rise of pretty and perhaps not-so talented people who were making it big off their videos, more-so than their musical ability and sort of spoofed the early MTV culture including their ads.
