A few months we decided to do the Backstage Magic tour at WDW. We always wanted to do this because it sounded like fun. So when the team did their review of it I kept an open mind.

Our experience of the tour was OK. It is worth $200.....NO. I have to agree with the team - there needs to be more *Magic* in this tour :wizard: If you show me a ride vehicle please let me ride in it! If you show me the parade floats - show me the parade floats for the new parade not one that is going to be retired soon. I wish they had an "expert" talk about the topiaries not the guides.

While we were on Main St. I asked the question "Why is there a light on in Roy Disney's window?" The guide was not able to answer it and when she asked a cast member they said "no habla ingles" :scared1:

Agreed, that doesn't sound too magical!

After having been on the "real" Backstage Magic in California, I was tempted to try the East coast version the next time I'm at WDW, but given the poor words about it from the team, I think I'm gonna try one of the seasonal tours for the holidays...

Keys to the Kingdom and The Undiscovered Future World were both excellent, and way less money then WDW BSM!

It signifies that Roy is always in the park even though he is gone. Like the lamp in Walt's apartment.

A knowledgable cast member answered our question the next day. :cool1:

I will definitely be rebooking a DIS ABD BSM tour!!!!!

I did this a few years ago and it sounds very similar to what the DIS team experienced. I think the only difference may have been that we didn't see the Tower of Terror ride vehicle and we went back to Animal Kingdom to watch the parade later in the afternoon. As I hadn't done any of the other offered tours before and had never seen the utilidors or any other "backstage" areas, I really enjoyed the tour. But if you're someone who has seen a lot of that already and is a true Disney enthusiast, I can definitely see how it would be a bit boring and not worth the money.
