BRV vs CCV?

The theming/decor in both are different. Boulder Ridge is a little more wilderness with some train theming as well; Copper Creek is more modern wilderness aesthetic. Studios in Boulder Ridge sleep 5; Copper Creek only sleeps 4.

Copper Creek is inside the main building, as it is converted hotel rooms. It’s this quickest to main facilities and services, but can be a bit louder depending on where your room is located or what it overlooks.

Boulder Ridge is a very short walk from the main building, under a covered walkway, and is quieter. It’s closer to the buses, too.

I own at both and love both. I like the quiet and theming of Boulder Ridge and lake views when I get them, but I love having rooms that open into the main lobby of Copper Creek or overlook the pool area.

I also like that pool better.
Yes the Zero entry BR Cove pool at CCV / BRV is a very nice pool with shade. It is available to all Guests staying at the WL resort. This includes regular resort guests, and DVC guests at BRV and CCV.

I know they are free, but how hard is it to snag a cabana in the morning at the BR pool?

There is also a room size difference, with BRV having the larger studios, 1BRs and 2BRs (CCV, but not BRV, has GV's and the cabins)

BRV/CCV studio sq ft: 356/338
BRV/CCV 1BR sq ft: 727/675
BRVC/CCV 2BR sq ft: 1083/1051

Do not own either but preference for staying there is CCV because of being in the main WL building.

Well, I've only ever stayed at BRV. But I like that it's a separate building because it was really quiet. The walkway to the buses to was covered and didn't take long. The walk to the boat was a bit farther but it was a pleasant walk with nice scenery.

I really like the decor and the look of the rooms at BRV. Based on photos, CCV seem a bit "blah" to me.

At BRV, they don't have the massive, grand lobby. It's smaller but still cute. And there's a room off to the side that has a fireplace and chairs and whatnot. It's very cozy.

Staying at either, you can obviously still enjoy visiting the big lobby. And you can use both pools as well.

One other key difference, but im not sure it matters to most, is the CCR has the cabins on the lake BRV does not, so if you ever wanted to book one at the 11 month window you would need CCR points. Correct me if I am wrong but BRV is also a 2042 resort and CCR is 2068.

I’d also consider when you’re planning to stay. We love CCV in December bc the lobby is absolutely stunning, but it’s also challenging to secure a room (I can’t speak to BRV having the same issue).

I preferred CCV mainly because it was just easier to get to the quick serve, lobby, parking, etc...I also liked the rooms better but that one isnt a fair comparison because we last stayed at BRV before the refurb. BRV is also very nice. Its more secluded and quiet which is probably better for some. We did really like the pool near BR but with my son a bit older now he wants to go to the pool with a slide so having the closer access to the quiet pool isnt a big deal anymore for us. Either way you cant go wrong. Its a great resort.

I prefer the quietness of BRV over the modified hotel rooms of CCV - and I can always visit the main lobby if I want…

Yeah, we were at BRV but walked through the lobby often. Sometimes we'd go that way to get to Roaring Fork. Other times we'd take a different route and enjoy the outdoor scenery. It was nice.

Does BRV have a sleeping space for a 5th person in a 1 bedroom since the rehab? I'm trying to decide if I should move a reservation from BWV to BRV so the 5th person doesn't need an air mattress. I can't remember!
TIA!

No. There is just a king sized bed in the bedroom and a full (or queen?) murphy or pull out bed in the living room. (The studios, strangely enough, have room for a 5th person.)

I stayed in a one bedroom in CC in December and mostly because of the size and the decorations, I much prefer the 1 bedroom at VWL. I wanted to stay in the main building, and I am glad we did. We had a very nice view of the lake, but the balcony was so small, you couldn’t sit out there and see above the railing.

Having stayed at CCV earlier this month, I think the distance thing between the lobbies is kind of overrated. My room was on the ground floor of the main building overlooking BRV, the distance between them was probably 100ft. I preferred the pool at BRV as it has shade in the gazebos, and will get more afternoon shade when the sun goes behind the BRV building. I checked out the BRV lobby too, and its a much cozier affair. You still have convenient access to the WL lobby by covered walkways.

If deciding on buying between them, I would be looking at price, point charts, whether you are likely to book the cabins (high point cost) and expiry date (BRV is sooner). The location thing really is a wash.
