Okay...so everyone on thi sboard is always so great with food recommendations so I need some ideas for brunch.

We are having 13 people for brunch on sunday and right now we are having:

Bagels w/ lox and cream cheese
Tuna w/ italian dressing, celery, peppers and onions
pita w/ hummus
veggies
fruit salad
dessert (i think we are having apple pie??)

we want like one or two more main type of dishes in addition to the bagels and tuna
BUT...
We can't have anything with eggs or nuts in it
Does nayone have any easy ideas for brunch items??

When I think of brunch I always think about breakfast items. Not being able to have any dishes with egg items is kind of hard though. What about muffins and bacon or sausage? I was thinking about a french toast casserole, but can you do something like that without eggs?

No eggs is tough. No frittata, no quiche, no french toast.

Maybe a green salad with a citrus vinagrette and baked ziti.

Delicious. It sounds like you already have several items on the menu.

Why can't you serve an egg dish to some? Are the people who can't eat eggs so allergic that the presence of eggs would trigger the allergy?

I would have a spiral ham, mini muffens & mini cream puffs the kind you can get at BJ's in the frozen section.

I'm wondering this too? :confused3 Just becasue one person can't have eggs, does that mean youhave to totally omit the item? I would think that including healthy options for that one or two people would be enough, unless the presence of eggs triggers an allergic reaction.

There is a scrambled tofu mix that is pretty good.

they might be worried about cross contamination?:confused3

i vote for a selection of muffins, maybe some biscuits? bacon? sausage?

I think muffins & biscuits are usually made with eggs. :scratchin

I host a brunch every year during Christmas. One no-egg item we have is chicken a la king, served with puff pastry. It's always a hit.

A brunch without eggs is a new one for me as I always have an egg casserole.
Can they have anything made with eggs?
How about a turkey breast or ham? A potato dish. Yogurt parfaits with granola and fresh fruit.
I'd say a pasta dish but pasta is made with eggs too. :confused3

well...i'm the one allergic to eggs. so we don't cook eggs in the house anymore.

Muffins sound like a good idea. I didnt even think of that. Luckily for baked good items we can use an egg replacer and they taste the same. I think i'll defintiely have to make like blueberry muffins or somehting like that.

how about some crepes? there's a vegan crepe recipe floating around somewhere that i've seen before..it was on allrecipes.com i believe..
you could leave a selection of fruits, sauces or even veggies (mushroom, spinach -mmm) for your guests to choose as the filling.

Thank you!! I just went to allrecipes.com and found it. Its very simple and that would actually finish out the brunch menu great.
