My wife and I currently have Brunch at the Top booked for March (very excited to try this one). My question is, what have those who have done this done for dinner that night? Any plans that worked well or that would be done differently.

We currently have an ADR for Homecomin' for 8:50 and the brunch is at 10:30 AM and we plan on relaxing by the pool in between.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. :goodvibes

Late, lighter dinner. There is a lot of food at brunch and was not at all hungry by 5-6pm. The time between that you mentioned looks good. It's an awesome brunch and well worth doing at least once. We really liked the free valet parking that comes with it. Ate and then walked to MK for the day.

If you have brunch, you're entitled to go back up to CA Grill to watch the fireworks that night. That's our plan in April.

This is a great question. I've been debating my plans for the day I have brunch scheduled as well. Currently have an 11am brunch and a 6:50pm dinner ADR at Jiko. Sounds like it might be too much, too close! Good luck on your decision.

Definitely recommend a late, less eventful dinner as the brunch is quite an event in itself IMO. What you have planned sounds great. We have attended the brunch twice and would happily do this again. Hope you have a wonderful experience!

Thank you for your input. Ideally Homecomin' will join OpenTable before our trip and we can change the ADR from Disney to OT, just in case we would rather have something lighter. We are certainly Brunch people and are very much looking forward to this meal. Our wedding was more of a Brunch wedding and we return to the hotel every year around our anniversary for their Sunday brunch and we really enjoyed Palo on DCL, but I am pretty sure CG is going to blow those experience out of the water.

I didn't know they were honoring the view like an early dinner ADR. I think my wife and I may be the only people who are not impressed with the view of Wishes/HEA from CG. Don't get me wrong, amazing view of MK and the MK area, but we just weren't all that impressed.

That does sound like a little too much a little too close. If you figure that you will probably spend between 90 minutes to 2 hours at the brunch, that leaves just 6 hours for you to digest in time for an amazing meal at Jiko (one of our faves). That's pushing it if you ask me. If you could do Jiko later, at like 8 or 8:30, you might be able to enjoy the meal a bit more. We love AKL and are staying there for our third time this coming trip. So much to see around the resort. Enjoy!

Do not expect Homecoming to "join OpenTable". Unlike the majority of Disney Springs restaurants, Homecomming is Disney owned and operated. Disney has no need or desire to use Open table.

You're not the only ones. It's fine for some, but IMO certainly not worthy of taking time out of your trip to return to CG just to watch the fireworks from there. We're DVC members, and feel the same way about watching them from TOTWL. Highly overrated.

I’m not sure i would plan on any kind of ADR after the brunch. I’d stick to QS and if you are interested in a sit down meal, you can go on MDE and find something that sounds good.

Yeah... that's why I said "Ideally". Can't help but to have a little bit of hope, no matter how little it may be. :D

Glad we aren't the only ones. Again, love the view, just not some place we would go out of our way to watch HEA.

That is actually a pretty good idea. I'm one of those people who cringes at the idea of not having a dinner ADR planned for every night of a trip, but we aren't going during any major holidays or anything, so just playing it by ear may not be the worst thing.

Yep, we’ve gotten good reservations last minute. It’s worth a shot!

My wife and I have tended to do the following....

1) Brunch at CA Grill, shooting for 10:00 AM....
2) Walk to MK for the day (it helps :)).
3) Dinner at IlMulino, where we can really "scale" how much we want to eat :).

We decided to cancel our ADR for Homecomin' and figure things out that night.

I'd enjoy going to a lounge for small plates and cocktails for the evening after brunch.

Any lounges on property you recommend for small plates and cocktails? Maybe Jock Lindsey's? Or The Edison, if it ever opens, and has a similar menu to the one in LA.

Sounds like a tasty plan to me. Enjoy!

We had the brunch earlier this month. Had a 12:30 brunch reservation and dinner that night at Via Napoli. Our Via Napoli reservation was for 6:40 but we wanted to sit outside so had to wait a while for a table and probably weren't seated till 7:15 or so. That worked fine for us.

This gives me hope: We have 11:40am brunch and 5:50 'Ohana and were hoping we would survive the food coma. I figure since it will be Christmas Eve, Ohana will be really backed up and we'll have to wait a long time to get seating. We're also thinking about trying to get to the brunch earlier (11am possibly?) to see if they will seat us earlier, just to make the gap between the two meals longer.

We're not doing parks that day, so maybe I will have to do the treadmill at the resort gym between meals! LOL

I have a 1pm ADR for brunch (I don't usually eat breakfast) and am not planning a "dinner" later that evening. We'll have snacks or appetizer sized plates instead of a full meal. I'm looking forward to tasting a LOT of the selections and can't imagine having another full meal after the experience...or before!

We ate a ton at the Brunch and I ended up just eating very lightly at Columbia Harbor house later. I think I just ate the lobster roll without the bun.
