We are so excited to get out of the car finally, that nobody seemed to notice the weather as we walk into the hotel. It was only 11 when we arrived at the Marriot, so I was worried that we were to early for check in, but they had a room ready. I requested the north tower like everyone suggested and got it. I was so excited though that I forgot to ask for a view of Disney. Our room was very nice. Bathroom/sink area was very spacious. Two double beds, but no daybed that I have heard others mention of. I called to request a free fridge and it came within 15 min. Now out to the balcony and oh no, we are on the wrong side. There is a big window near the elevators where we can view the fireworks from so that will just have to do. We all shower and put our shorts on. Time to explore this huge hotel, so down the elevator we go. As we step off everyone is staring. As we look around we realize that we are the only ones in shorts. Others even went as far as hats and mitts. We decide that they are the crazy ones and not us so off we go. First outside to check out the pool. Looks excellent but nobody is swimming due to the weather. We try to locate the indoor pool with no success. Did I mention that this place is huge. Now it is time to check out the decorations at other resorts. Our first stop was the Yacht and Beach club to have lunch at Beaches and Cream. Everyone on this site has given it good reviews so we went. It was a 30 min. wait so we checked out stormalong bay, and all 3 kids come to the conclusion that they would like to stay here someday. As we wait outside for a tablr we are getting colder and colder. Finally it was our turn to eat. All 3 kids had floats(excellent), my 2 dd shared a sandwich, ds had a burger as did me and dh. The burgers here are excellent. Total 32.00, not bad. We leave here and drive to the contemporary, where we park and hop on monorail. First stop MK to activate my AP, then over to Poly. Now maybe I missed the decorations, but this place was not very festive looking. Back out to catch the monorail. Now the wind has really picked up and we are still in our shorts, and by this point freezing. Something is wrong and no monorails are coming. So we wait and wait and freeze some more. Finally one comes and we get on and decide to skip our Grand Floridan stop in favor of heat back at the hotel. With the heat blaring in the car, we decide that we are warm enough to stop at DD for some shopping. My nice DH drops all of us off while he parks. We meet him in the main Disney store, where I got a new tote bag, DD got pooh sunglasses, DD got new hat, DS got one of those twirly light things that they sell down there, and DH got some mickey draft glasses. All 3 kids got to pick out 1 new stuffed character each(we have quite the collection now). Now back to the car. It is very dark and cold now, and guess where DH parked. Nobody knows, not even him. We go up and down every isle, then over to the next lot. Now we are back to the freezing stage. He says that he is pretty sure that it is over one more lot so wait here and he will be right back. After 20 min. he finds it and we are numb. Back to MOWC for some swimming. Once again we cannot find the pool even with the help of front desk and 2 maids. Finally we decided to follow the next kid with a towel, and viola-indoor pool. It is now after 9 and we are tired and hungry. the wait at both retaurants was over 30 min., so we decide to order pizza from our room. After 15 min. on hold to room service I hang up and pass the chips and dip around the room. Today was not our day, but DH heard that this was supposed to be the coldest day and things would warm up tomorrow. Now how does the Grinch say this WRONGOOOO
