Brrrr.....Just got back from Disney

Well, we just got back from WDW and boy, was it cold! Record lows at 33F and 29F on a couple of the days.
I'm sure DW made a fortune off the hats/scarves/mitts they were selling in the parks. We bought a few long sleeve shirts while there and layered with our t-shirts and hoodies. We didn't have hats or mitts but I would have used them if I did. (I wasn't going to pay the high prices for their cheap mitts)
I spent the last day and a half in the resort room with my 9yr old DD who picked up some sort of stomach flu. She had it bad

Good news is that we will be back in March and hopefully the cold spell will be long gone!

sorry to hear it was cold. Hope your DD is feeling better. Being sick while on vacation is the worse think especially when they know they are missing days at Disney. Glad you are returning in March. the weather will be much nicer and she won't be sick


Out of curiosity did you get a bounceback offer. I'm curious to see if they will reinstate the offers.

Yes, there was an offer for free dining. But because we are using our DVC membership we can not take advantage of that offer.

We just got back last night! Record lows, we too underpacked for cold weather ( so much wasted luggage space on shorts!). Was WAY busier than we had hoped when we planned this trip 6 months ago - discounts & free dining certainly brought the people in.

We leave tomorrow morning. I have been watching the weather network site and we plan to have shorts and coats, hats and mitts. Looks like some of the days may be ok in the 20s. Hot or cold - who cares we will be in Orlando!!!

Sorry you had to experience cold temps during your trip.....we feel your pain having been there the last 2 February's when it hit the same record lows. We're going again this Jan/Feb and not sure how to pack....guess we'll have to wear layers....also sorry to hear about your DD's sickness....we also caught something the last couple days we were there.....not fun.

I'm sure it'll be warmer in March.....here's hoping.

We always seem to go when there's a deep freeze going on in Florida. Our Disney photos are quite funny. One day, at Epcot, we'll be in our t-shirts and the next day in the Magic Kingdom, there are photos of us in our winter coats. They make a lot of money on hot chocolate on those days. My mom was constantly disappearing and reappearing with cups of hot chocolate. LOL

Wel I am sorry to hear it was cold for you guys but I was there a few years back in late november early dec and did the MVMCP. The cold kinda added to the spirit of the whole thing. It made it really feel like christmas. Plus it is never seems as cold as it does here in canada. Last Dec we were in the world for the first week of the month and it was sooo hot-like high eighties/low nineties and we were under packed for that! I kept ahving to wash my one pair of shorts !!! Like one of the op mentioned tho-you are in the World so it is all good!

No bounce back offers this trip. We called while we were there.
I'm done going in December because of the chilly weather.

We are just back yesterday. We received an offer in our room, although the word 'bounceback' was curiously absent (can't help myself--the Cheshire Cat was the character on the offer).
When I unpack, I will post the exact details.
As I recall, it looked at lot like the current public offers. Sigh!
