Brownie pan cheap and is it worth the money

At Christmas, I bought it for a gift at Walmart. It was $19.99 but I don't know how good it works. I want one for myself so I am curious if it is worth the money too!!

I bought one for myself shortly after christmas and it works good. Just be sure to spray not only the pan and insert, but also the dividers. I forgot to spray that and the brownies kept trying to stick to that. But, my brownies did cook evenly all the way around and it was nice not having lots of brownie crumbles everywhere from trying to cut them myself.

in my mom's opinion it is not worth it. The hassle / benefit of having the dividers doesn't equal out. We don't usually buy the spray stuff so having to grease the divider vs just the bottom was the hassle. The "benefit" of having the brownies already cut is unneccesary in her opinion when a knife does just as well. Sure it looks nice, but not necessary. BTW, dad gave her one for christmas.

I have to say that I really like the brownie pan. I have made brownies in it several times and have gotten lots of compliments. I have also made deep dish chocolate chip cookies and they worked great. The pan does need to be sprayed as well as the the divider but that is no big deal. It does take a little more room to store but if you have the room I would definately give the brownie pan a thumbs up!

I bought a brownie pan at Michaels Arts & Crafts as a Christmas gift. The shelf price said $19.99 and I had a 40% off coupon.

Well, I go to pay for it, and it rings up as $9.99, minus my 40% off coupon. The pan cost me only $6 plus sales tax! :thumbsup2

I wonder if Bath and Beyond carry them, I might consider buying one for 20% off. I will have to be on the lookout for a Michaels coupon!

Thanks for the responses. I will try Michael's I tried my Bed Bath and Beyond but they do not carry them yet.

I make mine in a cupcake pan, works great. It give you the same desired outcome, edges all around but probably not as many as the pan.

In the spirit of full disclosure: cooking is not my thing; never has been, I can't imagine that it ever will be. But I've never thought of myself as being particularly baking challenged... until I used one of the silly perfect brownie pans. Geez louise, what a mess!

Mine leaked, and not just a little bit either. In fact the burning brownie mix on the bottom of the oven set off the smoke detector. What fun! :scared:
I also ended up with brownies that were 1 - 1.5 inches thick on the side of the pan that didn't leak and in the middle, and brownies that were barely 1/2 inch thick on the side that sprung the leak.

My whip up a quick batch of brownies plan turned into an all afternoon clean-up project. I'm not sure if I'll give the pan another chance or not. We're taking a little break from each other for now. :rolleyes1

So no one else has experienced the leaking problem? I wonder why I had such trouble. :confused3

I got the Perfect Brownie Pan for xmas and am trying it for the first time now. I put it on a cookie sheet, so hopefully there will be no leakage..they smell delish right now!

It's a nice idea but it leaks on the bottom so make sure you place a cookie sheet under the pan. Not worth the hassle in my opinion.

I have used mine several times and have had no leaks. I know that it says you can put on a cookie sheet but I have not had too.

Brownies came out PERFECT~!!! I did put a baking sheet under it as suggested - no leaks - lovin' it :cloud9:

I got one for Christmas and love it! I did follow the suggestion in the directions to line the bottom with foil to avoid leaks, and haven't had a problem. I did find that I had to add to the baking time, but other than that, it's great.

Ours is perfect...we use it all the time. :thumbsup2 No leaks. I'd say it was worth the price.
In fact, I've been getting compliments on my brownies...and I can't cook or bake anything :lmao:

I can't spend $20 on a brownie pan that will need a lot of spray...just can't. I bake my brownies in muffin tins and will save that $20 for Disney!!!

Mine was a Christmas gift, so it was totally worth the price - Free:laughing:
I also use the spray for all my baking, so there is no added cost for me there either.
