Is BD on the dining plan or is it a signature restaurant?

The HBD is a Signature Dining Rest. so it'll be 2 table service credits on the Dining Plan.

We ate there 12 years ago on our honeymoon and LOVED IT! We can't wait to go back this time (we skipped it in 2006 since the kids were smaller then).

Brown Derby had the BEST food of our entire trip!!! We were on the deluxe dining plan so we ate at a lot of different places, and this food was the best, bar none! I had the Grapefruit Cake and it was amazing...

I highly recommend the crabcake appetizer and Ahi Tuna entree...out of this world!

Oh, and yes, Brown Derby is signature, so it's 2 TS credits. But totally worth it.

I will be at HBD for the 3rd time in September. We like the fact that it is more upscale and the service reflects it. The grapefruit cake, meh. Yellow or white cake with grapefruit flavoured cream cheese frosting. Hit or miss, it can be very dry or OK, but for me, a taste was all I needed.

But 2 years ago they had a Key Lime Martini that was out of this world. Sadly, they do change the menu a lot and no longer offered it last year. I am hoping it;s back on the menu next month.

I LOVE BD!

BD is the home of the Cobb Salad and I can honestly say nobody else makes one as good as they do.

BD isn't on our itinerary this year, but I've heard there is a little counter service window where I'll be able to get my Cobb Salad still. (here's hoping what I've heard is right!)

The Brown Derby is a MUST DO in our book every time! The halibut is awesome and the crab cake appetizer is incredible. Have a great time!!!

Like previous posters, we've made Brown Derby a "must do" every trip. It's a spot of elegance in DHS. The food and service are both good. We enjoyed everything we ate there.

(Although I enjoyed the grapefruit cake a lot less, simply because I don't like grapefruit! But I still wanted to try the famous cake. )

We went five years ago and did not like it--thought it was overrated. We did not have good service and there were only five tables occupied. My DH who LOVES his desserts, hated the grapefruit cake. We always give places two tries in case the first one was an "off night", but being on the dining plan and having so many other options that we enjoy or want to try, we've never gone back. But I say go for it and judge for yourself.

Here it is I got the recipe last itme I was there the waitress got it from the bartender for me. this is the one without cream a kinda clear yellow-green.

Equal parts:

Vodka
Licor 43-can not replace
Cointreau
Sweet & Sour mix

Now if I could get the Watermelontini I know they infuse 25 watermelon Jolly ranchers in Vodka first the mix kinda like a cosmo. Just can't get it right.

I'm going to be eating there on Christmas Eve, this will be my 3rd time eating there and always liked it. The salmon is very good and the crab cake appetizer is very good too.
