My DW asked me a question I could not quite find the answer to, so I thought I'd throw it out here. Is there a "To-Go" menu at the Brown Derby? I've seen pics and heard of the Cobb Salad (for example) on a to-go carton.

Second part of the question is : If there is, can you use dining credits for it? DW is curious about this.....

None of the full service restaurants at Disney have a "to go" menu. You will only be able to order it if you're dining in. But if you don't finish a meal, you can take it in a carry out container. I've never heard of anyone getting seated, ordering, and asking for a "to go" container immediately.

And since Brown Derby is a 2 table service credit restaurant, you'd be wasting credits ordering a Cobb Salad. It's better to pay for that out of pocket.

Sorry no. As TS places are not set up to offer to go.

You can make a ressie and sit down, then take what you don't finish.

If you do this I sure wouldn't use 2 credits to eat just a salad (because you can get the salad as your entree). It is much cheaper to pay OOP.

Enjoy your trip!!

When we went past Dec and we were waiting to be seated. A lady asked a CM if she can order the cobb salad and the cheesecake (the CM said no problem). She and her son was so happy and said lets to order this again at our last day. It never hurts to asked. When we were in LeCellier (waiting to be seated again...a man comes in and asked for soup and bread to go...the CM said not problem.)
Hope this helps

I wouldn't count on this, even with previous reports. It isn't standard procedure and if the restaurant is busy, or you get a CM who is not willing to do it, you could be denied.

It's up to you how you spend your DDP credits, but TS 2 credits for a cobb salad would certainly result in lost value if you paid for the credits. I would also think they would be far less likely to allow you to order an entire three-course meal from the podium to go.

I've read here that you can get the Cobb at Starring Rolls (along with the grapefruit cake), sometimes. That might be where the to go picture came from.

As for ordering to-go...I smiled brightly and said please, and got vegetable couscous to go from Marrakesh...had to wait quite a bit for it, and for some reason they didn't give me a receipt (which was annoying for record-keeping), but I did get it. (DS loves couscous and I *thought* Tangeirine would have normal couscous, but they didn't and couldn't get it, so I begged at Marrakesh)

I know this isn't the question you asked, but since it counts as two table service meals, I thought I would share my thoughts about Brown Derby. We tried it our last trip and we were not impressed. The steaks were dry and the salads were mediocre. It wasn't worth 2 table service meals IMO. So if you are just wanting to try the Cobb salad, I would just pay for it on your own.

Yeah, the plan was never to use any TS credits for this, just wondering about the possibility of a t0-go. My co-worker just got back a month ago, and they got a salad "to-go" at the regular cost, my wife inquired, so I figured if anyone would know, it's here on the DIS. We might check it out if we are around it, and just pay OOP, no biggie there, there is the odd meal to pay for. :) The use of a TS credit was never in question, they've all been spoken for on ADRs. Me personally, dont really care for anything on the menu there, but DW does love Cobb salad, and the pic my co-worker had has tempted her.

When I worked at the Brown Derby I took many orders for a Cobb Salad to go. I would give the order to a server who would put it in the computer and I would get the salad from the kitchen. Then I would have the server process the payment. And usually I got to keep the tip.

It never hurts to ask. And usually they are very accommodating.

I LOVE the cobb salad at BD! We go there for lunch each trip just to have that. The other food hasn't really wow'd me though. If DH wants to eat somewhere else, then I will now try to get a cobb to go.
