Ok, I guess this means I don't watch enough food network, but what on earth is "Hijiki"- as in Hijiki crusted ahi tuna. Is it some sort of dreaded mushroom?

According to Wikipedia, it is "a brown sea vegetable growing wild on rocky coastlines around Japan, Korea, and China".

Hmmm... thanks for the info guys. I'm not sure how appetizing that sounds- but its better than mushrooms!

It actually doesn't have a very potent flavor IMO.

Usually if I don't recognize it I won't order it and eat it. Seaweed, nope doesn't sound good to me.

I had the ahi at HBD recently and thought it was the best entree I've ever had at this place. The tuna was defiitely the star of the dish, so if you like ahi, you would probably enjoy this one.
