Can you tell me if the cake has actual pieces of fruit in it or is it just fruit flavoring? Thanks!

From what I understand the cake itself does not have grapefruit in it - the grapefruit is in the frosting.

There are no chucks or pieces of fruit in the cake, it is flavored with the juice. Also the sauce on the cake is not grapefruit it is blood orange sauce. This is a bit bitter but the cake is so good!

FYI - You can order the Grapefruit cake through Starring Rolls so that you don't actually have to eat in Brown Derby. You can eat in Starring Rolls which is excellent, BTW, order the cake and enjoy!!! It's yummy.

Wow! That's great news. I was considering making an adr at the Brown Derby just to have a piece of the grapefruit cake. Now I can just order it from a counter service

FWIW I really HATE bitter foods and fruits, but this cake was AWESOME! Definitely get a piece, you won't be disappointed.

According to the recipe on Allears it has grapefruit in the icing and juice in the cake.
