We like to visit a few places we have never tried during each trip. This time we are thinking Brown Derby. Any opions? How were the kids meals?

We went as a party of 5 last year, and every one of us enjoyed our meals big time! It was fantasice, and has great atmosphere. We have added it into our DDP schedule for our next trip we liked it so much - you MUST try the grapefruit cake - yummy!

We love the Brown Derby. The crabcake app and the Grouper entree are fantastic!!! Sometimes they change out the grouper for halibut. My DS who does not like fish can't wait to go back and have the grouper! :)

I can't remember what we ate, but I know the kids liked it. I felt like it wasn't enough food, but it was good. I loved the atmosphere inside!! And, we were able to pretty much go on in, so that was a nice break from the heat outside!!

We went and for me I was 14 last year [now 15] and I didn't really like it.

It was too fancy for me and it had too much steak on it.

I split a piece with my sister and then ate the FANTASTIC dessert

We love it! The salmon is one of the best entrees I've ever eaten. Next time, I'll ask them to hold the olive tempanade, but that's personal preference. We had 2 adults, a 16 yr. old, & a 17 yr. old, & everyone agreed it was the best meal of the trip. Sorry, no little ones in our party, so I'm no help there.

Like anywhere, there's going to be good reports and bad reports, I think you just have to try it for yourself.

I had a horrible experience there and will not be going back. The service was horrible, even though there was barely anyone in the restaurant. No refills, took forever to get someone to take our order, etc. Our food was OK, the venison sausage was good, my duck was over done. The grapefruit cake tasted like it was from when the original Brown Derby was open. Oh, and we had done the Fantasmic package and they repeatedly kept telling me that I wasn't. Finally in the end, they charged us for it and gave us the pass, but we had to fight for it. The family next to us was not impressed either. They said their cobb salad was horrible and looked like someone had pre-chewed if for them. Yuck!

My DH liked the steak here better than Le Cellier. I love the Brie Oyster soup. The menu changes with the season and it wasn't there in June but there on Thanksgiving.

Everyone who has tried the Cobb salad has been disappointed because the lettuce is also finely chopped so it wasn't what they are used to. It clearly says chopped greens but what can you do?

My DH got the braised short rib app and it was small. We've always loved the atmosphere here and the girls were thrilled to finely reconginze Bob Hope and Bing Crosby after watching some "Road" movies we rented from Netflix.

We loved the cobb salad (minus the blue cheese). The portion is huge though. It was plenty for 4 of us to share as an appy.

I agree that the service here isn't that great. However, they have one of the best vegetarian options I've tasted on WDW property. So, for me it was worth it!

We actually enjoyed Mama Melrose much better!
