i read somewhere that the brown derby is a 2 credit meal but i dont remember them stating that when i booked it. its lunch and im just kinda confused because its in a park and i dont understand how its that special that it is two credits. the problem is we ate at mama melrose last year and since we are two adults the other TS places dont appeal to us so i am kinda out of options as i do not have the extra credit to spare on our meal plan. is it a two credit for lunch without the fantasmic package? our am i just misunderstanding the guidelines?

It's a 2 credit location - it's considered a signature restaurant.

I can confirm it is a 2 TS credit restaurant. We just ate there a few weeks ago. FYI - it was so worth it. :goodvibes

since you are two adults, you might want to consider sharing at the BD and paying oop for an extra appetizer/salad to stretch the meal... of course, that depends on your appetites...

The Brown Derby is 2 Table Service credits per person. It is an excellent meal. Here are a couple of pics so you can get an idea of portion size if you want to consider sharing :).

It's a little more upscale than most park restaurants as far as the atmosphere and offerings. And yes, it's always 2 credits.

Wait, you can share meals when on the dining plan? Really- I would think that would be frowned upon. Has any of the pp done this?

You've always been able to share meals on the DDP. If you do a search using 'sharing on DDP', you will find many, many posts of people who do this. At least weekly there are posts on here where people are asking for the best places to share meals on the DDP. Disney portions are just too big at times. You just can't share with anyone not on your plan. We've done it many times, since the DDP was first introduced. Never had a problem.

You were probably told Brown Derby requires two DDP credits per person and just missed it. If you weren't told, it was an oversight and since that's only done as a convenience anyway, well, now you know :teeth:.

It's most definitely 2 credits, most definitely not worth it, in my opinion. I mean, the food was pretty good and it's a nice place, but it's no better than LeCellier, Coral Reef or Ohana and they are all 1 credit meals.

i will probably just cancel then. our first and last day of our trip are full days so with one signature meal its just streching the rest of our meals too far for us. thank you!
