So, for December 29th I can’t find anything for 4 (got season passes but was too late for the 60+10)

grabbed a Brown derby for 2 but have 2children also-any idea if they will likely be able to work the two kids in or should I expect the worst?

I wonder if you should try for the lounge/outdoor patio area. They sometimes have walk up availability.

If a party that reserved 4 ahead of you shows up with 2, they'll seat you. If not, they won't. So I'd keep trying to get a new reservation.

As you closer, you should be able to get a table for 4.

You may be offered the opportunity to add ONE person at check-in, but others have reported being offered the opportunity to add zero additional people.

Have a plan for the latter.

These posts come up regularly. I always find it interesting that the children are the ones left off the reservation. I imagine all these people using the “but they’re children, they can’t go somewhere else alone” ploy. I feel so bad for the CMs that have to deal with this.

even if they can work you in with larger party be prepared to wait past your time with people who came after you being seated ahead of you. you did not list ages of kids but could this be a problem for them waiting and wait could be up to an hour past your time

Are you asking if they can sit on your lap since you were unable to secure them seats? I imagine so… but that sounds like a nightmare to me- especially for a nicer place like HBD. My kids are/were way too wiggly for that to at all work for a full meal. I would not expect them to have seats, no. You’ll likely be at a table for 2.

I saw a family get very angry (which wasn't justified - I really felt for the CM) when denied a table in this situation at Brown Derby a few years ago. Don't do it - wait for a proper booking!
Ah well I won’t be angry but if nothing else opens I’ll give it a shot. Always a chance I’ll find a second two table around the same time and we can just split up with one kid each. Prob be worth it assuming massive crowds dec 29th. But good to know that it’s a long to nil chance.

the one I know about was trying to add was an infant because we had included our infant in our count we were seated ahead of other group and they ended up waiting almost an hour past their ressie with a number of young kids in their group. and this was a slow time not busy Dec
