Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Oh. My. Goodness. What an amazing experience to see all those giraffes acting like they owned the place!!! :lmao: I love it!!!

And the kids and crocodiles setting -- :rotfl2:.

So, do you think they are one and the same?
Your giraffe.

I won't tell you how much time I have spent scrolling up and down examining their patterns and spots because it might reveal just how nutty I really am...;)

But I have come to the conclusion that it "might" be the same giraffe. :rotfl:

Okay I did not even see "your" giraffe and I have been scrolling looking at them both too- I think they might be the same one!

I agree! That giraffe really gets around! Great pictures of all of your giraffe company. I would have loved to get that up close and personal with the giraffes.:goodvibes

Love the giraffe pictures. My favorite was the one Charleston Princess and IluvXU reposted. How cool is that?!? Loved the rhino crossing the road too. Excellent!

Thanks to Jackie I have now spent a "nutty" amount of time scrolling between two pictures of giraffes and I think they might be the same one but I'm not sure I'll have to spend more time studying the pictures :rotfl2:

What a great safari...I have never had the experience of animals getting that close or acting stubborn so I would have loved it!!! What a great interaction!!! Sorry you haven't been able to get a crocodile pic yet...but you'll keep practicing...one is bound to turn out at some point LOL!!!!!

Loved this update and the giraffes how fun!!

Have a great week at schoo MeMom!!!

Yep, I was doing the same thing, up, down, up, then back down, over and over again. I concur, they look the same to me too!

I am telling you -- I was making myself dizzy scrolling up and down! :rotfl:

I am glad I could provide Sunday night entertainment. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It's like one of those spot-the-difference pictures -- only it's spot the similarities.

They were enjoying some breakfast.

IMG_0093.jpg

I think this update was made just for ME!!!!

I , LOVE, giraffes!!!!!

As a matter of fact, it seems that they had even invited some friends over.

IMG_0100.jpg

THE BABY!!!!!

and when he thought it was all clear, this guy went back!

IMG_0124.jpg

The CM finally coaxed him away with some more yummy greens.

IMG_0131.jpg

That whole sequence is just HILARIOUS!!!!! :rotfl:

How long do you think that you guys were sitting there?? Glad you had already eaten, I could imagine running to the ADR to say 'we were held up by giraffe's....sorry!' :lmao:

Matt's favorite!

Jackie I think you are right!!! That is funny and those are just WONDERFUL pictures.....both of them :goodvibes

GREAT UPDATE MeMom!!! LOVED IT!!!

BTW - I get to make our ADR's tomorrow :yay:.....gotta get in the bed soon since I'll have to be up bright and early :rolleyes1

Those giraffe photos are amazing! How cool to have that up close and personal time!

As for pics of my crew -- ask and you shall receive they say!

Here's a photo of the whole gang on Doug's first day of kindergarten. As you can see, he was beside himself with excitement. He had the best day and came home beside himself sharing stories about all the cool things that happened. Sine Aileen is a little less than thrilled, here's a recent one of her.

And Aileen's birth announcement for good measure!

Some may complain about the hold up of the safari but most would consider it lucky to see those animals up close. :thumbsup2

It seems that stubborn giraffe was trying to see what he( or she) can get away with but finally gave in when the " good yummy greens" came out.
Maybe it was a giraffe dare to see who could make the truck come out?

Was the last seat as bumpy as some say? I don't recall ever sitting in the back myself but I do remember being tossed around in other seats enough so that all my pictures were a blur. :rotfl:

Jill has a lot of it on video, so hopefully she can get her computer to cooperate and put some of that up. We always enjoy anything different on the safaris.

The last seat was pretty bumpy; I agree.

Such fantastic pictures of the giraffes. I would love to do the Safari they offer at AKL someday...

Us, too. We have talked about it several times. As a matter of fact, Trent even checked on the price to do it for my birthday, but it was too much!

The stubborn giraffes are too funny! Especially the one that came back out as soon as it thought the truck was gone! I'd love to see them that close.

Hopefully you can see the whole thing on the video. All you have to do is find a jeep to sit in for about twenty minutes, and you'll pretty much be reenacting the whole thing!

Sometimes giraffes remind me of second graders....
As usual, loved the update MeMom. Hmmmm, I wonder if Brooklynn thinks the water might be hot in that scary geyser....

I'm not sure. She likes the Pop jets, but she doesn't like certain kinds of spraying water.

Right now, though, she has bigger concerns. Jill told me today she has monsters in her closet! :scared1: And they are not Mike and Sulley!

Great pictures of the giraffes, the think they are more like 7th graders and were in their own little world with all their peers. I look forward to the pictures of the animals on the trail.

Yeah, maybe they are teenagers giraffes, and that would explain it all!

Wow those are great safari pics! I can't believe how those giraffes held you guys up! Thats crazy  Its so cool how the CMs just come out in the truck and know how to make them disperse LOL

Those darn lions are so hard to get pictures of!

Several of them began moving when they saw the truck coming.

I've gotten some pretty good lion pictures in the past, but nothing on this day.

The Port Orleans Resorts are beautiful. We stayed at the Riverside, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Check my TR for pics!

They are both pretty, and we love the walk along the river. It's one of the most peaceful places in Disney World, I think. I will check out your pictures.

Great giraffe pictures! I bet it was neat to see them up close!

And to who asked about the last seat....yes it is bumpy!!!!

It was cool to see them up close!

Yes, VeRy BuMpY!!! :)

WOW! Those were fantastic giraffe pics! Who woulda thunk it?

I thunk I was the only person who used that word!

I think it is the same one. I see several splotches that convinced me that it is the same camera hogging giraffe. Maybe we should nickname this one Hollywood!

Okay I did not even see "your" giraffe and I have been scrolling looking at them both too- I think they might be the same one!

I think so, too.

I agree! That giraffe really gets around! Great pictures of all of your giraffe company. I would have loved to get that up close and personal with the giraffes.:goodvibes

It is very cool when the animals come close enough that you can get really good pictures, and it's nice to stop every once in a while so you can get a good shot.

Love the giraffe pictures. My favorite was the one Charleston Princess and IluvXU reposted. How cool is that?!? Loved the rhino crossing the road too. Excellent!

I liked that, too. I don't know if Jill did video of him or not. Being so close to something that massive was cool.

Have a great week at schoo MeMom!!!

Scrollers of America, unite! The mark on the middle of the face, the ones around the eye, and the one on the neck convince me that it is the same one.

I will have a busy week. I have to finish testing and get ready for a sub!

Yep, I was doing the same thing, up, down, up, then back down, over and over again. I concur, they look the same to me too!

Yep.

Great safari pictures! Those giraffes were too funny!

We did feel sorry for the people that were waiting in line back at the station, though, because we were there quite a while.

:lmao: I just handed the laptop to Marc and he did the same thing!:lmao:

And does Marc agree with all of us smart people?

I am telling you -- I was making myself dizzy scrolling up and down! :rotfl:

I am glad I could provide Sunday night entertainment. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You would have loved it then. I'm guessing we were there about twenty minutes.

Good luck on your ADR plans. Keep us posted!

Is Dawn still coming the weekend of the 11th?

Thanks so much! They are precious - all of them! Look at those handsome, happy boys and that little sleeping doll. We are used to seeing that. Bella is a sleeper!

I'm so glad Doug loves school. I hope he keeps that enthusiasm for more than just a year or two.

1. Monsters in the closet are not a good thing when they aren't Mike and Sulley! I just hope those scalawags don't get under her bed too! Does Jill have some Monster spray on hand?

2. Yes, after much consideration (scrolling) :rotfl2: he agrees.

Good luck on your ADR plans. Keep us posted!

Here's the planned ADR places to get!!

Norway Princess Breakfast
Tutto
1900 Park Fare dinner
The Wave
50's
Crystal Palace dinner

:yay: Hopefully we'll get everything we need!! :yay:

Keep your fingers crossed for us! :upsidedow

Is Dawn still coming the weekend of the 11th?

Not sure....she just mentioned that a few weeks ago as a possible weekend.

You just made me think though....I have got SO much going on that weekend!! Taylor Swift concert with Makayla, West Side Story play with mom and my Memaw :goodvibes, and a family member coming in from Baltimore. So maybe sunday dinner with the fam.

Good grief! I'll be a little crazy :rotfl:

Wow MeMom! Looks like you had a great safari! I don't know if you remember from my TR, but we had an up close experience with a giraffe as well! Our driver had to tell us not to put our arms out because after all, the giraffe is still a wild animal. It was so neat!

2. Yes, after much consideration (scrolling) :rotfl2: he agrees.

I suggested using some confetti as pixe dust to wish them all away, but spray would be neater. If spray or pixie dust doesn't work, then her big Mike and Sulley may just have to sleep in her bed with her and keep watch.

I'm guessing she had a bad dream and it's carrying over. Just a normal part of childhood. I know when I was about five years old, I saw a skeleton crawl out from behind a bed in another bedroom as I was walking from the kitchen to the living room alone during some kind of big party we were having. I just remember there being lots of people, but I was the only one in the kitchen, and as I was walking back toward the living room, the skeleton was coming out on hands and knees! That was as real to me as anything that was ever real, and to this day I can recall it vividly!

Sounds like a busy weekend for you. Jill just thought we might all meet up for a minute at the mall or something, but it'll be iffy for us, too. I'll probably be busting at the seams to get out, but I doubt I'll want to stay out long. We'll talk closer to time and see what's going on.

Of course, if you come to my house, you could just hitch a ride with Taylor to the concert, since she lives up here! She'll have to go right past my house to go sing!

Okay, if you post your close-up, and that one looks like ours, I'm going with the animatronic theory and saying they are all painted just alike! ;)

First of all, hurrah for Port Orleans! What a nice surprise!! All the pictures I see look fantastic and I'd love to try some of those beignets! ::yes::

What an exciting safari with so much animal interaction! Love the giraffes and confess to lots of back and forth scrolling this morning thanks to Miss Jackie.

Bella's expressions are so funny.

IMG_0052.jpg

she's like, "um......is that a gigantic DUCK that i see across the room????"

"yep, that would be a gigantic duck in a safari coat. this is the weirdest place!!!" :rotfl:

The blur is Brooklynn flapping up and down with excitement as Mickey signs her book.

brooklynn.....no worries....i feel the same way when i'm meeting a character.

The driver could not go further, as there were several giraffes making their way across the field and across the road.

They were enjoying some breakfast.

i do believe i remember getting a text message from you guys about this! how cool.....i don't even know where to begin quoting picture becaues they're all so great!

Meanwhile the CM had called for help in convincing our giraffe friends that breakfast was over.

A truck came out to help move them along.

poor giraffes! they were just trying to have a little breakfast!

The CM finally coaxed him away with some more yummy greens.

what a cool job!

Is Dawn still coming the weekend of the 11th?

yep, i'm coming into town on friday, 9/11 and leaving on sunday. so it will be a quick trip. let me know if you all are planning on getting together. because it's going to be a quick one, i will do my best to be there but i can't promise anything. :)

**********************************

OCTOBER TRIP NEWS: My daughter has been at it again, friends!
She went behind my back and took us out of All Star Music.
She said she'd rather try staying off-site!

Okay, are you in shock???

Well, I really just wanted to see all of your unbelieving faces.
It was worth it.
You guys made some great faces!

She really did take us out of Music, though,
but she put us in

Port
Orleans
French
Quarter!

That's pretty cool, because neither of us have stayed there!

So, on this trip, we get to mark off another resort and another restaurant for Jill and two for me.

Very nice.
Oui?

I have seven weeks to practice my French, you know. ;)

AWESOME! :woohoo: i'm sure you guys will love it.

Here's the news: I spent about forty minutes in a tube with just my neck and head sticking out on Thursday. I was ready to throw my arms up and sound some kind of alarm on the machine if it dared to try to put my head in! The last five minutes, my back was cramping so bad, but I wasn't allowed to move. I was glad when it was over!

The results were that I have multiple tears inside and out on/in my meniscus. He will do the surgery on 9-9-09. The lady that gave me all the pre-op paperwork wanted to know if I wanted to do it at 9 o'clock after she saw the date. I told her no, I'd like it at 9:09. :) She said she'd see what she could do!

He said my knee will not be 100%, but he can get most of the pain gone, so I'll take that. He said I'd be off of it about a week and can go back to school on crutches for however long it takes to start putting weight on it.

I am mad at myself, though, because if I had gone a week earlier, I could have had it this coming week, which means I could have gotten out of doing all my testing!!! Our Reading Specialist would have ended up doing it for me.

Stupid, stupid me!!!! Is there a smilie that is beating its own head?

i'm so glad you found out what was wrong and that it's fix-able! :thumbsup2 i'm sure you'll be as good as new in no time. oh, if you're having surgery on 9/9 then i doubt you'd be able to meet that weekend anyway, right? i definitely don't want to be responsible for memom blowing out a not-quite-healed knee!!! no pressure - just let me know! ray and i will be back for christmas this year anyway. :santa:
