Broke my ankle

Sometimes breaks are actually "better" than a severe tendon and ligament tearing sprain.

Hope you heal fast and completely with no residual problems.

Now, the burning question... where in Ormond Beach is there a roller skating rink?

That is probably the truth. Good luck to the OP. On the "bright side", At least you were having fun when you did it. I broke my elbow skiing, which to me, was preferable to tearing my rotator cuff mowing the lawn.

:sad2: Sorry to hear that- Hope you heal quickly:goodvibes
I am convinced that "open skate" is one of the most dangerous places for an adult to be without kneed pads and wrist guards. All of those little kids flying around  Us older folk just don't bounce as well ;) I am on a local roller derby league and I swear most of our injured skaters got hurt, not at practice or during a bout- but at an open skate, (or walking across an icy parking lot ) Hope you feel better soon :goodvibes

You poor thing! Pain and being stuck in a cast for weeks. Right when the weather's getting better for walking outside. Well, I hope you heal really quickly and take care of yourself!

MIL did a number on her ankle over the summer, she didn't do her physical therapy... and she's still hobbling around. Make sure you do your PT! And get well soon!

So sorry about your broken ankle. Hope you heal quickly, and that you can still enjoy your trip!!

It is on Yonge street Skate and Shake.

Sorry I have not been on. I ended up doing more damage then we thought. I had to have surgery on it. Got plate and pins put in. :( Go back Friday to the doctor.

I am in my 8th week of recovery from a broken ankle (have at least 2 more weeks in a walking boot/cast). I can so empathize!! Glad you didn't have to have surgery on it!!!

Hope it's "only" the 6 weeks

Had to have surgery today. :(

I heard rotator cuffs are the worst.

I am so sorry:hug:....shall we see who has more hardware?:lmao:

I have the plate and 6 screws on one side and the pin on the other side (he was going to put a second pin than realized it could completely have taken out my bone).

I hope you are able to get one of the roller walkers....I have adapted butI still can't get around as much as I would like.

I was able to wiggle my toes earlier, and now I can not. Should I be worried?

DH had heel surgery on Feb. 25th, so he was in a cast for 4 weeks, then a boot for 4 more weeks. He is not allowed to put any weight on that foot or drive until the boot comes off. What a pain! We ended up buying him a knee walker. http://www.amazon.com/Weil-Knee-Walker-Medline-Burgundy/dp/B0015K015I
For us this was the best way to go. Our med supply wanted $200 for a month rental, or $1000 to buy it. And DH has to have his other heel done in Sept, so we thought it would be cheaper to just buy one. Our insurance would not cover anything for this. If you do get a knee walker make sure it is the kind that has 2 front wheels that turn and not 2 fixed wheels. Hope you heal fast, we know first hand what a pain it is being in a cast.

I was thinking the same thing...not that I think the OP has it easy! I've sprained my ankle so many times that if I slightly lean a little more than normal, I'm going down! I just want to break it next time and have it put back together. :lmao:
