Well, I don't know about you guys, but I am really tired of reading all of these threads about the discounts. It's such downer. Obviously, though, it is on everyone's minds and that's why this forum is here.

I think it's better to eamil them with your concerns. It made me feel a lot better to sit down and write a thought out letter.

My email simply stated that I am a passholder who spent 15 nights on property last year and planning on another 18 this year. I wrote that Passholders are feeling a little left out in favor of those who may vacation at Disney once a year or every few years (because of the packages). I furter stated that although we love staying on property, we will have to go where we get the best deal.

My letter was very friendly and conveyed my love for Disney.
I know some think we are "expecting" something for nothing, it is just , after all, business. Just like I would not just pay the asking price of a house or car (or any other items) without looking around and seeing what kind of a deal I can get, it's the same principal here. It's business on their end and mine, as well. I have never paid rack rate anywhere, except at Disney.

As far as our Nov trip, that is paid for and will not be canceled.

It was kind of neat yesterday that I was finally in the double digits and the WL was on the travel channel.

I just emailed Disney too about the lack of AP discounts and what is taking so long. Just let us know one way or the other so we can get on with our planning.

Oh how I hate the waiting game...
Lori

The email came back undeliverable..something about they are in process of a system upgrade. Suzy did your come back too?? If not what address did you use?

Thanks. Lori

We all must be thinking the same thing. I e-mailed Disney yesterday after I heard about this new package coming out. I explained that as a pass holder, I am unable to take advantage of these packages they keep offering. I just aked them to consider the AP holders as well as the general public when releasing discounts.

Hi all.

Can you please tell me what email addy you are using? I would definitely email Disney to voice my opinion about the lack of discounts not involving an UPH pass, in a polite and courteous manner, I just don't know what email address to use.

You can PM me if you prefer.

Thanks,
Colette

I just went to the offiicial website and at the bottom of the page you can click on "guest services".

I just phoned CRO(Tues. 8:00am et) to ask about the "Winter Dream Maker" package. Asked about the WL courtyard view room for Dec. 6-13(7nights). The only thing available now, are the value resorts. The deluxes and moderates are in the computer with a different code, but you can't book yet.

I asked her about the room only codes and she laughted and said she has had "hundreds of calls about them". We have the come back rate for Dec. 6-13. She quoted me a price of $1,854.54 for a courtyard view room view at WL for my dates when it becomes available. I had very little wait, so the lines aren't burning-up yet.

What WDW is doing is "Madison Ave." marketing at it's best. They are calling these packages all kinds of warm fuzzy feeling names and the public is going for it. "Fairy Tale Package" and "Winter Dream Maker" package. If a person figures the cost of these packages, compared to the room only codes of the past, these aren't any cheaper for the once in a lifetime visitor to WDW than code "ABC" room only code was. People are all hung-up on AP room only codes, but WDW has had room only codes without an AP for awhile. The AP code may have been a couple dollars cheaper, but not much. It was typical that the discounts were 40% off rack room rates and you could buy the pass that fit your needs, now they are including and charging for the UPH pass in the "warm and fuzzy" packages, whether you want the more expensive pass or not. You could also select the length of your stay, now WDW says 7(FTP) nights and passes for all those days, when before you may not need passes for travel days. The average Joe and Jane who now thinks they can now take Junior or Missy to WDW because of these wonderful packages, weren't paying attention in the past. Those room only codes were as cheap or maybe cheaper and you could plan your vacation to your needs. It's all smoke and mirrors and we loyal customers are being left out. If you don't believe me, just crunch the numbers. Disney is a busness and if it works, that is what it's all about. Meanwhile. Vegas and New Orleans want me this winter and let me know, with great deals.

I looks like everyone is resorting to writing letter and emailing.

Ap holders do get a great deal on passes. After so many days, you are bascial getting in free. However, it is better for Disney that you do get in free than if you don't go in at all. Once you are in, you are spending money on food, souveniers, haircuts, you name it!

I can only speak for FL Residesnts. Most people I know go to disney overnight or for a weekend. People are ASTOUNDED that we are going for five nights! If people go for that long, it's because they are also doing Universal. Universal has become such a favorite down here, because of the great ticket and hotel deals. Most Floridians have been to Disney till they are sick of it. Most our our friends and family don't understand why we love it so much.
