Anyone know Kristin Chenoweth/Sean Hayes show schedule.
I want to see a saturday matinee but do not care to see the
understudies. Any broadway fans please post!!:confused3

My cousin who lives in Philly saw a matinee of PP a few weeks back and Kristin and Sean were both there. I think it was on a Saturday. I'm not sure about their schedules.

Thanks! I'm thinking of shooting for next saturday, july 3, maybe
that being a holiday weekend might change things as well. wondef if
calling the theatre would help.

Kristin missed a few shows last month with a throat infection, but other than that she rarely misses shows -- she is pretty old school. However, you can follow her on Twitter for latest updates.

ok, so far as you know kristin does both the matinee and evening shows?
I know in Jersey Boys, the main actor doesn't do the matinees so thought maybe that applied to numerous shows.

She talks a lot about how tired she is after doing two shows a day, but how worthwhile it is. So, it should not be a problem. I loved the show -- and I hope you do as well!:flower1:

Yes, that is usually the case. It depends on how taxing the show is, how many songs they actually do, and if they need the time off to recover their voice.

She's a true Broadway professional, from the old school of training, where they didn't miss a show. :thumbsup2 Not one of the pampered Hollywood celebs who come in and are not trained for such a rigorous schedule.

With any b/way performance, there is never a guarentee of seeing the Principals. Generally, they are on unless they are sick, etc.

Hi Zadi!!As always I truly appreciate your input.
who can know better then a nyc resident every
thing there is to know about The Big Apple!!!!:goodvibes

If the star of the show, star, meaning their name appears outside on the theatre marquis above the show title, they you have a right to ask for a refund if the star does not perform that day. The box office knows many people ONLY attend to see that star that they paid for.

Hey Sharon! :wave2: Do you have pics from your visit?

Sharon got to meet Billy Joel when she went to see Jersey Boys! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This is one of my few bits of trivia that I know as a NYC resident and Broadway fan. (I had also posted this on the Criminal Minds thread a while ago.)

Here is a pic of Joe in the original production of "Speed the Plow" on Broadway in 1988. It was Madonna's scandalous Broadway debut, because she had NO theatre or Broadway training, especially the discipline required, at ALL, yet she got the part over trained Broadway actresses because she's Madonna. People wondered if she would be able to do 8 shows a week.

This is a true story. I was friends with a couple Broadway ushers back then, who watched this actual performance. I was told the story sometime later, when I learned about it and grilled them. What happened that performance had spread throughout the Broadway community like wildfire as it affirmed Madonna's lack of professional discipline.

During one performance, Madonna simply burst out into a hysterical, uncontrollable laughing fit for a full 5 minutes. She couldn't pull herself back together to continue. :rotfl2: She was on stage with Joe Mantegna. Since the lines were all Madonna's and she was in the middle of telling a story, that HAD to be finished in order for the play to go on, Joe couldn't improvise around her laughter, and carry on. All he could do was sit and stare at her for the 5 minutes  and wait for her to compose herself and carry on. :sad2:

The caption under the pic above (on Joe's website) only says, "Speed the Plow on Broadway. Ron [Silver] was a great guy, he'll be missed." No mention of Madonna, at all! I think that speaks volumes. :rolleyes1

Madonna has not been on Broadway again.

That is some story about Madonna!
Didn't get any pics of billy joel, my
hubby did take a few on his cell phone.
You know how they are in the theatre about
picture taking, its a huge NO NO. I will tell
you that I did get his autograph for my daughter
in-law and if looks coulda killed when I asked for
it I'd be a goner!!:goodvibes Talked to the JB cast
at the stage door after the show and they were
awesome.

My favorite Broadway story involves Mandy Patinkin. He was doing a show, more like a concert of showtunes, on one of the big theater stages. When we got there on opening night, we were in the front row, but the way the speakers were set up, it partially obstructed our view, which was fine -- we could still hear him. He noticed as soon as he came on stage, and had the stagehands bring out folding chairs which he had them put right on the stage. He then had us all come up -- and we watched the entire show just a few feet from him on the actual stage.

One of the best experiences of my life, and I will forever be a fan.

Wow! :worship: :worship: That must have been an awesome experience. I hope you don't mind if I steal that to post on the Criminal Minds thread. :surfweb: Always looking for things to post about than, "Hey, another dead body!" ;)

I got to see Mandy a few times in Sunday in the Park with George, with Bernadette Peters. That man was born to sing.

LOL! It is yours to use! A kind act like that SHOULD be shared. I loved Sunday in the Park with George, and Mandy singing in Evita is one of my earliest Broadway memories.

I am insanely jealous! I have the DVD of them doing Sunday in the Park with George and his performance is amazing. I would have loved to have seen in in The Secret Garden.
