Broadway Stars Take Center Stage During Select Disney Cruise Line Sailings

Guests aboard select Disney Magic, Disney Wonder and Disney Fantasy sailings are in for a special treat when “Stars Set Sail” returns this year. This live concert series presented by Disney Theatrical Productions brings the magic of Disney’s renowned Broadway and international shows to the Walt Disney Theatre as some of the most prodigious Broadway performers join cruisers for an evening onstage.

The program features a world-class lineup of theatrical talent. Fans of “The Lion King” will recall Alton Fitzgerald White from his record-breaking 4,308 performances as the longest-running Mufasa on Broadway. And whether you’re a Broadway connoisseur or a theatre newbie, you’ll certainly recognize Jonathan Freeman when you hear him … After voicing the evil vizier Jafar in the animated film “Aladdin,” he currently portrays the iconic character in the Broadway show!

Other exciting names on our roster include Steve Blanchard, the longest-running Beast in “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway, and Kara Lindsay, star of the original cast of “Newsies” on Broadway and the “Newsies” film.

Every “Stars Set Sail” performance uniquely highlights the headliner’s theatrical repertoire and personal journey to Broadway. These extra-special sailings may also include meet-and-greets with the stars during exclusive Q&A sessions, plus adults-only shows in the evening and theater classes for teens and tweens.

Are you sailing with a star this year? Check out the full schedule of performers below.

As a HUGE theater nerd, I'm thrilled that Disney published the list of Broadway performers making appearances on upcoming itineraries. One of the highlights of my Iceland/Norway cruise in 2016 was seeing Kara Lindsay (who I'd seen in Newsies on Broadway) and her husband Kevin Massey (who I'd seen in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder on tour) perform together and do a Q&A during my trip. I'm really happy to see that Kara and Kevin are doing another Disney Cruise, though I'm a little disappointed that they aren't on *my* upcoming itinerary. I have seen several of the other performers (Susan Egan, Steve Blanchard, Heidi Blickenstaff) on stage, and those of you on those cruises are in for a treat.

Yes been very good, seen many of them as we tend to book longer cruises.

Kara, Susan, Steve all fantastic.

They like to surprise us, but typically the longer cruises get them.

We saw Susan Egan on our Panama Canal cruise a few years ago. She was amazing!

I get to see Susan Egan on our Med cruise in July! Can't wait! I love her as Meg in Hercules!

We saw Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey at Epcot during the Festival of the Arts in January and now we will see them again on the EBTA that departs from Miami on Sunday.

Saw Kissy Simmons last summer on our 10 night S. Carb. Fantastic!!! For those of you sailing on the July 9th Wonder, you are lucky

I sure wish they were on all the sailings. :( Of course ours isn't on the list.

Same. Oh well. I was happy to find the list anyway. At least I know in advance now and won't be wondering. In 2016 it was such a fantastic surprise!

Alton Fitzgerald White was on our cruise last year (11 night S. Caribbean on the Fantasy) - he was excellent, and very personable when he did an autograph session.
