Broadway Club

Yay, Broadway Club! Woooooo! We need to have one of these at my school...

Anyways...I hate the strike. It's stinky. But at least they finally agreed on opening the Grinch for all the little kids!

Let's see. My favorite shows are Wicked (jeez, I lost count of how many times I've seen this at about 6 or so), Rent, Les Miz (I'm in it with my theatre company now! Yay!), and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

BTW, has anyone here (who has seen Rent on Broadway) signed the Rent wall? I did. It was right after I saw Adam and Anthony for the last time. I posted a pic of what I wrote on the Show Your Face thread a while ago. My best friend wrote her phone number with an arrow pointing to it that said, "Adam...call me." :)

I really hope you signed the white wall in the alley, and not the front of the theater. The front of theater is not meant to be signed. There's a wall behind the theater that is the real wall, where all the celebrites signed after seeing the show. Lately though, people have started signing the front of the theater. The nederlander is supposed to have a gritty feel to it, hence why there's 'grafitti' on it (it was done by pros though when it opened in 96), but not the trashy feel that the signing of the front of it has done to it.

I want....RENT tickets..now, but they're not on sale... -.-

I signed the one you're supposed to sign, in the alley. I read that they had just cleaned up a bit of the wall in front of the theatre, so I'm like, "Ok, better not sign there!" :)

WOOHOO!

I'm in!

My top 5:

1. Guys and Dolls
2. Les Miserables
3. Drowsy Chaperone
4. Oklahoma
5. My Fair Lady

Gotta love the classics!

I remember seeing Oklahoma, not an actual broadway play, but at my mom's school that she works at.

Ok, good lol. Yeah, but the people who cleaned it off weren't members of the union, so they got banned from lotto because it was considered vandalism. really weird, i know.

that's so cool you got to sign it! how'd you get back there?

Broadway is amazing! I looove this club. We should have names.

If we do names I so want to be Wendla....anyways my top 5 are (right now anyway):

2. Spring Awakening
3. She Loves Me
4. Cabaret

I also love main-stream shows like Rent and Wicked, and you cant forget the Disney shows. (Though they are like a seperate catagory) Beauty and the Beast was my first Broadway show I ever saw.

Mary Poppins was really good!

The performances were amazing today! I loved Legally Blonde and Mary Poppins. My friend was in Mary Poppins, she departed the cast recently though. She was an alternate Jane. It was so funny, one second she was performing as Alice in Wonderland at our little middle school, and the next second she's Jane on Broadway. Crazyness.
Sorry for that random moment right there :)

I love Broadway! I'm seeing RENT on January 19! I'm SO excited!

Does anyone else cry when Angel dies in the movie? I start crying from Without You to the end of the movie! It never fails. I only know one of my friends who is (almost) as obessed with RENT as I am.

I was talking to my friend last night.

She said one of the reasons I am crazy is that I "have an obession with Broadway musicals"!

SETTLE THE STRIKE NOW!!
I have tix for Chicago on December 1 in NYC. Hope I can still see it!! If not...I'll be realllly sad :sad1:

There are supposed to be more negotiations this weekend regarding the strike. Hopefully they'll get everything settled and Broadway will be up and running again.
