Britta bottle are back!

1. Can you fit ice in a bobble? :confused3

2. If so I would go that rout (they're cheeper)

  1. The neck of a bobble bottle looks to be only around an inch. I guess food serve ice would fit but not like an ice cube from a tray or automatic ice maker. The brita has a wider opening probably for this purpose.
  2. I think I've seen that the bobbles and the britas are both $9.99. :confused3

I just bought 2 bobbles from Target the smaller size for 9.99 each on sale and the opening is too small for the regular ice cube tray ice. The plastic seems kind of thin too. I saw the brita water bottles on sale this week at Meijer and I got a coupon in the Sunday paper for a $1 off. I want to look at them and see if they might be better. I don't want them to be too big so that we have heavy stuff to lug around all day. If I like them then I may just return the bobbles since they are still in the package.

I went to Target and looked at both bottles. I have been checking out the bobble for a few months. The Britta wasn't even on the radar until last week.

I bought the two pack of Britta's for a couple of reasons.

  • The Bobble seems to be over designed like it was meant to win an industrial design contest that may not have looked at function.
  • I found a neoprene sleeve at Walmart that looked like it would fit the Britta better, (it did).
  • The Britta is slimmer, is more like a real water bottle and looks like it would fit in things like cup holders in cars. The bobble looks way too wide.
  • The clear plastic of the Bobble just looks flimsy, probably isn't.

One plus for the Bobble was you replace the cap with the filter.

I bought dh a bobble to test out before we get more for Disney. It doesn't fit in the cup holders, and he too worried that the plastic was thin and wouldn't last.

I also got an Igloo MAXCold Back Pack.

The Britta fits perfect in the side bottle holders. I can't imagine the Bobble fitting anywhere.

Great thanks for posting I was looking for something to save on water....:cool1: and this will do it do you guys know if they fit in the fanny pack bottle holders?

The Brittas yes as they are the same diameter as a standard 16 oz water bottle. The Bobbles probably no.

Thank you I am going to target today and looking at them. Thanks you guys so helpful on DIS wish I had you guys the first trip.....:rotfl2:

We have Bobbles (bought them for $6 at Old Navy Give & Get). The plastic is not flimsy and will hold up but the bottom is too wide for most cup holders. It's really the only thing I don't like about them. I don't know if we'll be taking them with us to WDW.

Just wanted to add that my local BJ's have these new Brita bottles. They come as a 3 pack for $24.99 with a total of 6 filters. I was so floored to see them that I did a happy dance right in the aisle. For anyone on the fence about these, they are awesome! The design seems so much better than the old style. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I was waiting for Sam's Club to get them but the only place I have seen them is Target (don't have a Walgreens close). So I bought a 2 pack, then I panicked and bought the last single one in the area, during last weeks sale, a few days later and then I could only buy a two pack the next day so we have 5 for 4 people.

Though based on prior trips we sometimes lose one so we are set.

I got one of these from Target with a coupon. I love it. I have been using it with nasty DC and Baltimore water. It works awesome. So glad i found it. The best part is, I can fill it drink what I want and pour it out to make it light again. So much easier than shipping water and better for the environment.

That is an AWESOME idea - brilliant! I can see myself lugging around a full bottle, but you are right!

I still had one from years ago, but just saw a commercial the new ones last night!

I think the new filters will fit the old bottle. They look to be the same.

I had two and once I figured I couldn't get new filters, may have pitched them years ago.

It looks like the new ones will NOT fit in the old ones.Wonder if I can contact Brita

Found the new Brita bottles for an unbelievable sale price at Walgreen's last week: $2.59 each! (Regular price $9.99.) 75% off!

It was apparently a special "Manager's Sale" that that particular store was having - I tried to get a different Walgreen's to honor the $2.59 price, but they said they wouldn't (apparently, each store manager can have special sales that the other stores don't have to honor).

But check out your own Walgreen's - it's worth checking! I bought several.

I saw some for the same price today at my Walgreens too!
