Therein lies the problem. YOU need to be your DDs role model, not a celebrity. Her giving them the idea that its ok to do those things is silly....you are the parent. If you don't like it say no. I've never once heard a child say, "Well Britney Spears dresses that way, why can't I?"

That "role model" argument is way overused.

Do you honestly think that the majority of kids in todays society sit around the cafeteria in school and say how much their mommy and daddy are their heros? Most look up to these celebrities and try to emmulate them as much as possible. All we can do as parents is try our best to keep up with the times and be there for these kids to show them the "real deal" andhow to be themselves. BUT I am not going to sit here (and my dd is 2) and say that she will not try to dress, act, or dance like her favorite artist or actress when she becomes a teen. I had wonderful parents, but all I thought of at that time in my life was music, hot new movies and shows, and boys!

As far as Britney is concerned. Good for her is she is pg. I dont care for her and never did. She doesnt have to care one way or the other if I care for her, she is stinkin rich!

So it's o.k. to bash someone for being young and stupid? It's o.k. to laugh at everything they do? Because someone is young and stupid means it's perfectly acceptable to criticize every move?

I'm not a Brittany fan. I don't care for her music or her style as an entertainer. However, as I don't know the girl personally I won't comment on her life except to say that I feel sorry for her--not only is she young and stupid, but she's young, stupid, and in the public eye.

Fortunately, she'll grow up one day. We were all young and stupid at one time in our lives. Usually late teens / early twenties. One day, she'll look back (as we all do) and say "Oh my goodness. WHAT was I thinking?"

If her and her husband (at least she has one!) want to have 10 babies that is really their business and who am I to bash her. Children are ALWAYS a blessing, and to say she should be fixed is a disgrace

Think back several years to the way everyone thought about Madonna and the way she acted and dressed. I remember how everyone was SOOO shocked when she became pregnant and how messed up her children would be. From everything I have seen in regards to what kind of mother she is I think she is a great Mom. I actually think she is a bit strict but I am amazed at the complete turn-around Madonna took. So in other words..if Madonna can change that much I think it is possible for Brittney to be a good Mom also. She is quite a bit younger than Madonna as a Mom but I think if she ever gets rid of Kevin she will be much better off.

I don't think celebrities want to be role models for kids I have heard many of them say that that is not their responsibility. Parents should be role models plain and simple. She will only be a role model for your kid if you let her.

Saying that you don't like how she dresses and acts is fine but saying she should be fixed and not allowed to have any more kids. That's a little drastic. At least she has money to support her children. There are plenty of people in this world that shouldn't be having kids but it's not our say to decide that for them or bash them when they have kids.

I started smoking at 16 because David Bowie did it. Kids don't always do what their parents want them to do. My parents said no but I just loved David Bowie so much and thought he's smoking so I will smoke. Kids do stuff like that all the time.

Why should we all be against her, heck she is the one that started all these young girls wanting to dress like a slut, she is a very bad example for young Teens, I personally don.t want my Granddaughters dressing like her, of course all the Men do , so they can observer all the nudeness they can take in. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but the truth is the truth.
