I just wanted to know what everyones opinion was on the Documentary- Britney: For the Record.

My husband made a comment that he had never seen someone look so different and talk so different at different moments. I guess she makes some crazy faces... lol and sounds more southern at times.

What did you think of it?

I only saw bits and pieces. I was flipping with another show. I want to watch the entire thing but I can say from what I saw that I agree.

There were times that I was thinking - where did that accent come from?

And many times she looked "not right". Her eyes were vacant, like there was nothing there.

I think she looks good for what she's been through and hopefully she is doing well. I think that the interviews, new album (are they still called that?), appearances and a tour are too much too soon. I fear that she will relapse, for lack of a better word.

I only saw a clip on the news this morning- oh wait it wasn't the news it was a talk show I think- but it was her talking about shaving her head. And saying "y'all know like everyone just shaves their head and it's no big deal. I do and I must be having a breakdown. Really I just wanted to shave my head."

Um that was enough for me to see-

totally agreed. that's enough to prove to me that she's still pretty crazy...she just has enough people in her life to keep her from outwardly showing it.

i've dealt with enough crazy in my life to know that if you can't truly see how irratic and irrational your behavior really is, then you really don't understand your mental illness.

but hey, at least she's progressed somewhat!

I couldnt get passed the "burping look". You know when its like you burp inward (trying not to make a noise or something) and you swallow it? She did that, A LOT. I dont know if they were twiches or what.

I feel bad for her though.... I really do.

I watched some of it. I feel bad for her. She seems like a prisoner at times. I just hope she continues to take her meds. I don't know if going on a tour would be a good idea for her right now though.:confused3

The first thing I thought about when I heard it was coming on was the Martin Bashir interview with Michael Jackson- although it wasnt like that at all. Anyone remember that?

I actually thought she came off pretty well. She seemed more intelligent than I had given her credit for. She is from Louisiana so maybe her accent just comes and goes. I do feel sorry for her, she comes off as a little girl lost. She does seem better than she did a year ago. I think a lot of that comes from her dad tightening the reigns, but she seems to resent that.

::yes:: At one time I lived with 2 people that had pretty heavy cases of bipolar disorder. Brittany actually seems pretty stable compared to one of those 2, but maybe she should let the meds saturate her system before she goes on the road.

I agree. I just hope she continues to get better.

I watched some of it, but it just reminded me why I have never had much respect for her as an artist. Did you see the scene where she says she came up with an idea for the Womanizer video? Any middle school student could have come up with that based on the lyrics to the song. I mean - isn't that the obvious direction? But I'm sure everyone told her how brilliant of an idea it was. It reminded me of how totally unoriginal she is (oh - I like that choreography - it's just like Janet's) and how she's a fairly mediocre dancer.

Sorry to sound so cruel. I feel bad for her as far as the bipolar disorder goes, but she brings a lot of unwanted attention onto herself.

I actually felt sorry for her after watching parts of it. She still seems as though she isn't really there. I just hope for her sake and the sake of her children that she continues to get better and enjoy life a little more!

I watched the before show and the actual show from beginning to end and I think it is sooo sad how the media tore her down during a time in her life that she was so vulnerable. And now, because of all the negative things we have seen and read about over the past 2 or 3 years, she is having to claw her way back just to look "sane". I feel terrible for her that she can't even go outside without security. I think there should be laws against the papparazzi that keeps them a certain amount of feet away from ANY individual.:sad2:

I didn't see the show, but she was on the cover of "Rolling Stone " magazine and someone from the magazine interviewed her. All questions had to be okayed by her father, Jaimie Spears before the interview.

The interviewer said, he saw, just once, the old Brittany Spears come out. She blabbed out, "can you believe Kevin Federline left me?" in a deadpan voice, then she cracked herself up, the interviewer said.

He also said, Brittany dad has "custodianship" of Brittany till the day her dad dies. He went to court twice to renew the custodianship, and now the judge granted it this last time to "forever". Her dad does all the hiring and firing, in every aspect of Brittany's life. He chooses her lawyers, accountants everything. Brittany did say, at first she didn't agree with it, but when her dad told her he would help her get her kids back, she reluctantly agreed.

The interviewer did say, Brittany has made a huge comeback, but what price is she really paying. Sadly, we will never know.

I have nothing but good things to say about Britney. She is doing what we all do. Surviving. She has been blessed with good family, and after all of this time, she finally gets that. I plan on buying her new CD tomorrow morning.

I saw it and it looks to me like she is doing a lot better. Good for her! I liked it when her choreographer said that he sees the "old Brittany" back in her eyes. I'd agree. I also think it was sweet to see how much her father loves her. I don't expect her to be 100% right now, just like you wouldn't expect anyone with a mental illness to simply "get over it." But it looks like she's trying very hard. I was sad to see how much paparazzi hound the poor girl. That would send me over the edge! Oh, plus, she's got her amazing body back. I'm jealous.

I watched all of it. I am morbidly fascinated by her as many others are too.

At times, she seemed like she wasn't there at all....just a shell of a person. And other times she was jovial, funny and lighthearted. I actually cried when she was crying...she was talking about her life being like a prison, except she has no chance of ever getting out of it. I get the impression that she wishes she could just chuck it all out the window for a simple life with a husband and her babies.

I feel bad for her and hope that she continues to get stronger for her boys...they are so adorable and seem to adore her.

But she did have that opportunity. She could have easily picked up and moved to Louisiana (or anywhere else in the world) and never worked another day in her life. Yes, the paparazzi would have followed her for a while, but if she did normal, everyday errands like you and I, then after a while there wouldn't be any more demand for her pictures and they'd eventually leave her alone. For whatever reason, I think a part of her craves the attention.
