British Airways ... World Traveller or World Traveller Plus

I hope it's okay that I posted here.

We are looking at flights to Europe next summer June/July 2015 and British Airways is coming up with some decent prices. The overseas plane is a 747.

Three Questions:

1. Is Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) worth the extra cost over regular economy?

2. Do the armrests fold up in either WT or WT+ class?

3. Anything I should be aware / wary of regarding the BA flight experience? (Within North America, we tend to fly Air Canada, but have also experience with West Jet, Jet Blue, Airtran, and soon, Southwest.)

Don't waste your money on WT+ on BA. We did last month and it just wasn't worth it as the difference is minimal.

If you want a true PE service choose VA.

Thanks for the reply ... we are actually trying to get to Copenhagen and home from Paris and that doesn't appear to be an option using VA (which I'm assuming is Virgin-Atlantic.)

BAs prices for our dates are currently the cheapest by far (Economy) that I've seen. Even PE is a savings.

I've done many trips on BA in both economy and WT+ and I think it's worth a moderate supplement on top of the economy fare but no more. £150 pp max.

Benefits are slightly wider seat and slightly more leg room. Food is nothing to write home about. The cabin is usually smaller and can be quieter, but last time I flew back from MCO there was a very restless child on our cabin.

For a day flight I'd rather have a bulkhead WT seat than a middle WT+ seat and then try for a cheap business seat for the overnight.

We have travelled both to Mco with BA and don't really think it's worth the money. For me the biggest thing was the arm rests don't move in wt+ which we would normally spread a little over the seats by lifting the arm rests so I would say I can get more comfortable

Thanks for this ... we are travelling with three kids, so being able to lift armrests can be beneficial. :)

I assume this means that the normal WT armrests do move then?

BA are rolling out a new WT+ but I don't think it's due on the MCO route for some time yet. I agree WT+ isn't worth the extra money but it is worth spending BA Avios (loyalty) points on if you have it.
