Hey everyone - BA have a sale on right now - ends tmrw (16th) at midnight. Premium class (world traveller plus) is approx £480 on some flights!! Bargain or what!!

Yes, they have some good deals on. My return date opens up on ...... the 17th :lmao: So I guess I'm not going to be taking advantage of their sale this year.

Hope you found some good flights for yourself :goodvibes

I looked at flights for next year in May came in at £1379 for Edinburgh via Gatwick then checked Aer Lingus for Edinburgh via Dublin, comes in at £113 less, hopefully I'll get a sale with Aer Lingus before next year :)

We have even with BA sales been cheaper with aer lingus. That being said we booked ours the first day they were available and that's been the cheapest I have seen them and since have varied between £400 and £600 more. Best advice is just check and check to see when your flights are available to book and if you can book them.

There's also some reasonable fly-drives, example 2-weeks in Feb flying midweek BA direct Gat-MCO with a Ford Escape or similar Intermediate SUV with Avis for two at £1,075.

I got a really good price earlier in the year, for DD and I, but I have just upgraded our inbound flights to WT+ for the bargain price of £356 :thumbsup2

They had some incredible upgrade prices when the sale first came out a couple of weeks ago!! They had inbound WTP upgrades for £126 pp :faint: I'm SO annoyed that I am one day short to take advantage of it. Hopefully someone will have a reasonable sale in the next few months so I don't feel cheated out of the bargain :)

Having only ever booked package holidays, I am keen to try a DIY version. Although flight prices may be good, the hotel prices for disney still seem expensive enough that it will come in at the same price at least as my package holidays. Maybe it's the 10% I get off my package as a frequent virgin member that brings is down...

Consider buying an AP to get discount off room only rate. Or consider renting DVC points - again, a cheaper way to get deluxe accommodation at value/moderate rates.

Is that something you can do as a one off payment, or do you have to buy every year, like renting?

You can rent DVC points as a one-off - you would just see how many points you needed for where you wanted to stay, then look for somebody who had points to rent at that resort - either on the 'for rent' forum here on the DIS or through a broker like David's Vacation Club Rentals. You would need to fully understand the nuances of renting, such as you would be unlikely to get any refund if you cancelled etc. however it can be a great way of getting 'cheap' deluxe accommodation. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions or want to know more - or, alternatively, we have a DVC board here in the UK forums, if you want to ask more questions.

Thanks, I'll check that DVC forum.
