I've just been quoted a price of £2,329 for 2 adults and 1 child to fly premium economy to Orlando. This is compared to Virgin Atlantic who quoted us £4,162 for their premium economy, which is very nice though...

What is BA'S premier economy like comapred to others?

I personally found British Airway's World Traveller Plus cabin inferior to Virgin Atlantic's Premium Economy, however you have been quoted an excellent price.

The WTP cabin is more of an extension to the regular economy service, with no dedicated cabin crew, where as Virgin offer PE seating upstairs on Orlando flights. This offers a quieter cabin with dedicated cabin-crew and toilets, along with a faster exit from the plane. Also, BA no longer offer a separate check-in for their WTP customers and you board with economy passengers (Virgin offer priority boarding for PE customers).

This said, WTP is still an improvement on the WT cabin and you really have found a good deal. Personally, I don't think the extra money for Virgin's PE is worth it for the additonal benefits.

My wife is a nervous flyer and hates enclosed spaces and she'll only fly in premium economy as there is a lot of space in Virgin's cabin. I think I'll stick with Virgin as usual.

The fact that you get a dedicated crew and first off the plane and own check in is a massive bonus.

I would agree with your choice then, however the £4,162 for just 2 adults and 1 child seems like a lot of money. What are your dates? Are you a Virgin Flying Club member? I've recently booked my flights for this August and used Miles + Cash for return PE tickets.

It may be worth looking at other booking options to try and reduce down that cost.

I also agree that Virgin's PE is better than BA's WTP. That said I can't get over the price you 've been quoted - usually for 2 adults flying PE with Virgin to Orlando I have paid around £1700 through Virgin Holidays for a fly-drive but that is either in May or Oct-Dec

Thinking about it I was quoted this price from Virgin Atlantic.

I always book my Orlando trips with Virgin Holidays unless I want to use my Frequent Flyer miles. The fly-drives are usually cheaper than on Virgin Atlantic and I get car hire too plus when I check-in they make sure that the miles go onto my FF programme. Will you be getting a quote from Virgin Holidays or do you prefer to go with Virgin Atlantic LOL you don't have to tell me I'm just being nosey

I will get a quote from Virgin Holidays and use my 10% discount I think. Nothing I've found so far can beat the price.
