Brita Water Bottles and Fanny Packs

I have gleaned numerous tips from this board so I thought I would share an unusual one. Since my 5th child is no longer using a stroller/diaper bag, I've started using a fanny pack. When introduced to the Brita water bottle, I knew it would be a must-have for warm park days. How to reconcile the two was remedied with a 6-inch length of 1" wide black elastic. I tied the elastic onto the fanny pack so it could be stretched to the size of the water bottle, which fits securely because of the indented portion of the bottle. While standing in line, I usually keep the bottle in front of the pack and if if hits my leg when I walk, I just reposition the elastic to the side.

No one will ever hire me to write directions/instructions, but it really was easier to tie the elastic than it was to write this.

I was just wondering...Does the Brita water bottle get rid of the yucky taste of the Florida water? If I does I'm all over it!!! Way better than buying by the gallon!!!!

The Brita Water Bottles do make the water taste much better. We also add crystal light lemonade or punch from time to time to change things up a bit.

Gotta love those brita bottles!
By the way luvchoclabs, Wal-mart carries brita bottles in the hardware section. Good luck finding one, they are well worth it!:)

i heard a rumor that Linnens and Things have them on closeout - anyone see them?

I have seen these at Bed, Bath and Beyond as well as some Kohl's stores. Hope this helps. I love my Brita bottle.

I don't want to seem negative, but I can't imagine lugging bottles of water around because of the taste or even quality of Florida's water. The World is huge! I work for a water purification company, so I do understand the desire for water that tastes good and definitely drink it at home, but there are water fountains all over the place. I'll put up with the bad water for a week if it will free me having to carry it. However, if my kids were very young that might change things.

I bought a Misty Mate fanny pack. It has a pocket for my Brita, with two side pockets for other items. The Misty Mate hangs length wise under all three pockets. It sounds bulkier than it is. I got it cheap too - $12 with shipping, not including the Brita (which my Walmart has for $3). I just bought some extra filters on Ebay. Ebay has good prices on the bottle and filters.

Can't wait to try it out!
