Brita water bottle and yyz security

we are headed to aulani in 3.5 weeks and I'm wondering if anyone has gone through Toronto security with a Briita water bottle. Empty of course. I'm picky about the taste of water so I like the idea of being able to re-fill it and still have the filtered water. Just not sure if the filter on it would cause issues.

No issues going through security at YYJ, YVR, Ottawa, or MCO with brita bottles as long as they were empty. Just filled past security.

I was clearing security in upstate New York a few years back with my Brita, I left the filter in its original packaging stuffed inside the bottle in case there were questions. The security had never seen one before on xray and didn't know what it was. Once I had an opportunity to explain what it was they had no issues and I continued on my way.

I am picky about the taste of water. I've never had a problem with the taste of water in Hawai'i. As I recall I was told it is because the volcanic rock filters the water somehow. You may want to try plain old tap water on your trip!
