Bristol Palin on The View~

Maybe all you who think Bristol is such a nice kid missed her saying that winning would be like giving a big middle finger to all those people who hate her and hate her mother. I thought that was really classy! :thumbsup2
I was willing to give her the benefit of the doubt over her F-word laced facebook rant recently.

However, the middle finger comment last night, combined with the facebook rant, shows that she is not the sweet little innocent young lady she is trying to sell. She is cracking and showing her true colors.

Bristol needs to grow up A LOT before she is going to be taken seriously. At least tween celebrities like Miley Cyrus don't try to pretend they are something different than they are. Miley seems to embrace her new trashy image.

Kelly Osborne doesn't try to hide that she is a bit on the wild side.

Bristol - she wants everybody to believe she is just the politest, conservative young lady who made a mistake, but is atoning for it by speaking for abstinence.

Polite young ladies don't use the F-word on public boards or refer to giving more than half of America (Mom's dislike numbers were close to 60% last month) the middle finger.

I could give Bristol the benefit of the doubt because she is young. However, the juxtaposition between Bristol and Kyle Massey was stark. Bristol is potty-mouthed and crude. Kyle, who is nearly a year younger than Palin, was always upbeat and polite. He didn't whine, he never said a single bad word about anyone and cheered on his competitors in the midst of the dance contest. From what I have seen on and off screen what you see with Kyle is what you get. With Bristol ... not so much.

Call me crazy but I don't think that's the reason for her celebrity.

I don't see anyone complaining about The Situation's celebrity? What's his talent? Having Abs? :rotfl2:

Hey Robinb....is this one of Jambo's sock puppets. It just has the feeling to the posts.

Somehow, I doubt she considers her child a "mistake".

Maybe I didn't make myself clear when I posted this earlier in this thread:

I think most people on reality television are rewarded with celebrity status merely for being on television. The entire cast of "Jersey Shore" comes to mind. It seems that you don't have to be talented, just lucky (by birth or by chance).

:thumbsup2 much better put!

The act of premarital sex was the mistake. If she didn't think so, she wouldn't be out preaching about abstinence and how she should have remained abstinent, now would she?

It was the act of sex that was the mistake, not the baby. But somehow I think you know that.

Dang you people are harsh. What has she done for you to hate her so much? :confused3

Other contestants from the show have also been dissed in this thread. I notice you're not jumping to defend them. Is Bristol special for some reason? Does she deserve better treatment than the other contestants?

Do you remember what a hard time we gave Kate?!? Like Bristol, Kate was brought back week after week on the basis of her fan's votes. I do have to admit that Bristol could dance circles around Kate :dance3:.

Exactly!

THIS!!!!!

I am not a 'hater'
And, in fact, I am pretty conservative, and would agree with many of Palin's conservative viewpoints.

But, the post above just really nails it.
At this point, Bristol is giving people something to have a negative reaction about. :sad2:

She actually thought that, even though she can't dance AT ALL, she should win in order to make an obscene gesture to those who are politically opposed to her mother

She is behaving like a 15 year old who seriously needs to grow up.

She didn't mean it literally, she meant figuratively. Let's be real here... she's taken a lot of abuse for advancing this far and it's not really fault. She doesn't control fan votes, fans do. On top of that, she received a mailing with white powder in it. If I was her, I'd be pretty upset as well.

I don't hate Bristol or her mother. Just didn't think Bristol should have made it past week 4.

Isn't it a great country when someone like Bristol can become a celebirty because she had a child out of wedlock. I think that is what bothers people, it's not hate to think that shouldn't be celebrated.

I applaud Bristol for making herself a celebrity, after what she went through during the campaign. I imagine she would have been much happier living her life in peace, being pregnant without having to deal with the press, and how people reacted and treated her and her family because of it, only she didn't get the choice. I say good for her.
Having said that, I don't condone her behavior, but I can understand why she feels its something she has to do.She has enemies for no reason except the fact that people don't like her mother, and thats a fact. She is probably destined for a life of having to defend herself against them, I hope se learns to do it in a more tactful manner, but I don't blame her at all for feeling the way she does.

Please quote what "vile things" I "spewed" about her?

Where did I say that you did?

I really don't care about this one way or the other honestly. It just seems like this poor girl is being unfairly, and harshly, criticized for who her mother is. That's all, and I really don't know why I got involved anyway to tell you the truth. lol

Well, let me set your mind at ease for at least one person.

My dislike has nothing to do with her mother. Bristol has earned it all by herself. I actually used to feel sorry for her when her mom was on the campaign trail and thought that she was being used as a pawn for either side

However, no longer. She is showing her true colors. You don't use the vilest of language and threaten crude hand gestures, and then turn around and pretend you need conservative, buttoned up costumes and feign coy embarrassment at some of the more suggestive dance moves.

That is not only immature, but two-faced. And that often garners dislike for one's lack of character. It is way too easy to blame the dislike on her mother. Bristol has shown she is very capable of earning it all on her own.

So she can't be modest on National TV with her body because she has an awful mouth?
