Bristol Palin on The View~

Best post of the day :thumbsup2

I'm going to put "Best post of the day on 11/24/2010" in my signature. :thumbsup2:laughing:

I get that people loathe Sarah Palin and what she stands for but Bristol is not Sarah. As far as I can tell they are TWO different people. Should everyone be judged so harshly based on who their family is or their last name?

I don't even understand the hatred for Sarah. I can understand hating her policy ideas but to hate the woman.. she hasn't done anything to anyone. She's actually a nice lady.

Or Kelly Osbourne. Wouldn't she make a parent proud. Somehow she gets a free pass.

Anyone that cleans up their life like she has would hopefully make a parent/parents proud.

Kelly has publicly stated that she was not the easiest kid to raise and that she has made a lot of mistakes in her past. She is working on becoming the person she truely wants to be, these last few years.

Yes, she got on DWTS because of her being the DD of Ozzie and Sharon and their TV show. But what came after that, she earned all on her own. The lightbulb turned on during her season of DWTS and she figured out what she needed to do to get herself right.

She, Drew Berrymore, RBJ are my poster children for even if you royally screw up, you can make a HUGE change for the better.

What Bristol can't wrap her hands around is - She believes that if you like her as a person, you have to like her as a dancer. NO, I think she's a good kid, but a sub-par dancer. Also it doesn't matter if I like her mom or not, agree with her mom political view or not, it doesn't reflect on how I feel about Bristol as a person. She is her own person to be judged and weighed. And as far as judging her as a dancer - by someon who danced for years and is mom to a dancer so we live, breath, and eat dancing - I can say IMHO, she isn't a very good dancer.

They hate her Mother.... it seems to be enough.

Why do they hate her mother, seems nice enough, attractive. Has really accomplished a lot in her life. Hope my daughter can match her but it will be tough.

I bet it has something to do with her last name :rolleyes1

And her last name is exactly the reason why she managed to advance so far (and earn so much more additional money -- the celebrities are paid on a weekly basis for as long as they remain on the show) on DWTS.

So is that a reason to spew vile things about her? I don't think so.

I didn't see the View but I did see GMA, and she was also "more" wooden than normal.

I bet she is wiped out tired! The show was late last night and then they had to fly to New York for all the morning programs. I bet she (and Jennifer and Kyle) hardly got any sleep last night. Jennifer was also more "wooden" on GMA. And it didn't help that the stage was much smaller than theirs on DWTS. It was kind of sad watching the dancers get tangled in the drapes and practically dancing into the walls and people. However Kyle still looked good and had great energy!:thumbsup2

I don't hate Bristol or her mother. Just didn't think Bristol should have made it past week 4.

Maybe all you who think Bristol is such a nice kid missed her saying that winning would be like giving a big middle finger to all those people who hate her and hate her mother. I thought that was really classy! :thumbsup2

Isn't it a great country when someone like Bristol can become a celebirty because she had a child out of wedlock. I think that is what bothers people, it's not hate to think that shouldn't be celebrated.

Yeah, that was real Klassy :thumbsup2. Especially when it was said on the heels of that big Facebook brouhaha.

So which is it - she's a celebrity because of her last name and her mom, or because she had a child out of wedlock?

I didn't watch DWTS, nor have I really paid attention to much about Bristol in the news, entertainment sites, etc. But I still really don't get why she is hated so badly?

She didn't win DWTS. And I think it has been estabilished that the votes were "FOR WHO YOU WANT TO SEE DANCE NEXT WEEK" not necessarily who is the best dancer. She got the votes to stay as long as she did. Plain and simple.

And if I were talked about the way she is I probably would have said the same. (See bolded above.) Like a "take that you haters" kind of thing. But I've never claimed to be classy either. ;)

Call me crazy but I don't think that's the reason for her celebrity.

I don't see anyone complaining about The Situation's celebrity? What's his talent? Having Abs? :rotfl2:

Usually the women on this forum celebrate a lady having a child out of wedlock. There have been a few posts celebrating this.

Um- didn't we already have this debate on The Dis?

It's a tv show. Is Bristol a fabulous dancer? No. Does she have ANY performing/dancing experience? No Did she improve during the show? Absolutely.

The winner was in a FAMOUS musical and is JOEL GREY'S daughter... shocker that she can dance :rolleyes1 The show ought to be called dancing with the dancers.:headache:

Or Kelly Osbourne. Wouldn't she make a parent proud. Somehow she gets a free pass.

I don't think there were organized campaigns to vote for her based on her parents, no matter how she danced. It was a shame Brandy got voted out because of this campaign.

I don't think Kelly got any death threats either.....
