You will be surprised at how small DL is compared to WDW. Apparently, so a CM told us, the whole of DL fits into the Magic Kingdom carpark at WDW. Don't know how true that is, but it's a good tale.

I grew up going to DL and when I went to MK a few years back, I thought it was smaller. Of course for a long time, there was just DL, as opposed to all the WDW parks, but now we have CA as well, which is smaller than DL, and Downtown Disney, which is smaller than the one in FL. You will feel very at home in DL as it's very similar to MK, just laid out a bit differently, and Sleeping Beauty instead of Cinderella's castle. The castle is a lot smaller.

I have been very late in planning and have no Palo dinner nor Brunch reservations. I wonder if we will get anything on board as so much is overbooked. On to that room with all the suitcases and clothes and lists and shoes and lotions and papers and .....well it scares me enough to be afraid, now really afraid, but I will get most of the packing out of the way tonight. Some of you guys are there....and soon we all will meet. My husband just said t take a deep breath and it will be done and we will be ready to get into the van to the airport. YEA!!!!

We got off to a late start and have no Palo Res. either. Started packing today and NEED ANOTHER SUITCASE, guess I'll be shopping tomorrow morning. Take a deep breath, take a deep breath.....

I think I am 90% done packing. Just have a few last minute items. I have 3 large suitcases and 1 small. I think I will need to add 1 more medium suitcase. Hoping to get away with just 3 or 4...wishful thinking on my part!

Today was my last work day. Tomorrow I finish packing. Fri morning 6:45 flight out of ALB to LAX. It's hard to believe I'll be having lunch in CA on Fri.

I just got the nerve up to weigh our suitcases. Both DH and I are over weight! I get to go purchase another suitcase or garment bag today! Better to find out now than when I got to the airport. Funny thing is I still have room in the suitcase The dress clothes for DH and myself are weighing in at 15 pounds

Is it true that the weight requirement is just for the airlines? Our bags are getting very close to 50 lbs now, but we are driving to the port. For return trip will have less weight per bag since H2O will be consumed during trip. I'm hoping weight is not a big factor boarding the ship. Hoping only requirement for DCL is two checked bags per person.

Hgomes - I'm pretty sure the weight limits are for the airlines. I know that's what I'm working with. I don't recall a limit for DCL.

We are at 6 as well. One is just water and pool noodles. That gives me an empty one for all of our purchaes. It is such a pain having to keep them under 50. I have suitcases that are 2/3 full. I am guessing they will have more luggage tags for us when we arrive at the port?

They have extra luggage tags in Port Canaveral. I am hoping they have them in CA as well. Does anyone know the procedure in CA? In FL we just drop off the luggage with the porters in the parking lot. Where in CA?

Yes they have people waiting as the cars pull up (not sure about the buses, we dropped my sister off). They asked if she had luggage tags to put on, but they had a bunch with them in case they ddin't.

The weight limit is for the airlines-SWA allows 3 suitcases/person up to 50 lbs each. DCL just recommends 2 suitcases/person-no weight limit.
