Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

:cat:

We'll be 60 days out tomorrow. :cheer2: I am really getting psyched. We have one excursion booked, doing the Cabo tour. The rest is still up in the air, although we know what we are doing in Acopulco, sort of. ;). as for Curecao we still haven't decided. CAC we are doing nothing except swim and sit in the shade and vegge.

Suddenly we are back to early Spring. Cool and breezy. Cool enough for a light jacket.

Very very hot and sunny in England this weekend we are in a little heat wave. I like the name 'Bringing the magic home' for this thread and well done MARK for keeping it going.

We near the 60 day mark early next week so all payments should be finalised, I whilst booked on the first day, upgraded and lost a stateroom number so I am hoping during the next week, the Cat 4 stateroom guarantee changes to a specific room number.

Anyone else read the thread on CICI water park, it has some bad reviews, I have booked a dolphin swim and the kids are well up for this. We had a dolphin swim at Cozumel with DCL a few years back and that was very good, but not like Discovery cove. Any feedback.

My Daughter Alice will be in touch with the kids who are asking to be pen friends, during this weekend, but they are having a swim in the garden at the moment to cool off and I am certain its difficult to get the away from the sunshine, today.

Our plans are finalised, off to Las Vegas first, the Grand canyon by helicopter, then fly to Burbank, and go to Hollywood and universal studios, then to Disney's grand Californian hotel for four nights for Disneyland and DCA before the Magic.

Hope to get my stateroom number soon! Maybe a Cat 3 will come avaliable at the right time, you can wish!!

Is anyone spending any time in DL before the cruise? I will be at the Grand Californian for two nights.

Tracy, love those newletters!

Sue

We are staying at the Westin in Long Beach for a couple of nights. We decided to skip DL this time around and instead check out the California shore.

There are quite a few people staying at the GC, scratch42 for sure. And a ton of people are staing at the HoJos and doing DL/DCA.

We will be leaving for California on Thursday, 8/18. We will be staying at HoJo's and plan on visting Disneyland and DCA on Thursday and Friday.

9 WEEKS TILL THE "MAGIC" BEGINS!!!

Hey Carol we are arriving on the 18th too and doing DL, (DH says it'll be too hot to do both) on the 19th. We are staying at HoJo too. There is a meet planned for that evening (19th) probably around the pool. But I haven't heard any of the plans officially. I think it is probably in the newsletters. Have to check and see if I can find it.

We spent the afternoon visiting local wineries and have purchased our two bottles for the tasting. Now all I have to do is write up the description and email it to Tracy. So that's something else done.

We'll be arriving in California from NY on Thurs 18th and staying at the DL hotel using my discounted DVC points. We'll most likely spend the first day at DTD, soak up the Disney atmosphere at the pool followed by a character buffet dinner. Then on Friday so that we make the most of this West coast trip, spend the day at Disneyland park. Seems as though the park will be opened until 12am. We'll sleep in on Saturday morning and then use the DCL transfers to take us direct to the Pier for the cruise. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc. WooHoo!

That's great that DL will be open till midnight the Friday before we sail. I'm sure I won't sleep much that night so I will just plan on closing DL.

Estelle, I will have to check Tracy's newsletter to see if there is any info about the meet on Friday evening. I think there are quite a few of us staying at HoJo's so I'm sure we will be running into each other.

I am getting so excited about this cruise. :Pinkbounc It can't get here soon enough.

Maybe if I make this post long enough we will finally get off page 30. Seems like we have been here for weeks.
Our weather is still cool and somewhat cloudy. Hoping there won't be rain tomorrow. We, the DDs and I, are taking DH out to dinner tomorrow night. He has this Italian restaurant he is particularly fond of so that's where we are going. And our eldest DD has actually sort of volunteered to mow the lawn for him tomorrow. Believe it when it happens.
Happy Fathers Day to all the husbands and dads on this thread. Hope you all have a great day.

We only started page 30 on Thursday, but you are right it is time to move to the next page.

Carol

Wow, I didn't know I had that much power. But we have moved on to the next page. "Wonder" (no pun intended) how long it will take to get to page 32?

Everytime Val :rotfl:

A lot of people will be staying at HoJo's -- we check in on the 17th :cool1:

Only thing that will cut our park time short will be getting back for the meet at the hotel.

We check in at Hojo's the evening of the 17th as well. I really need to research DL times and places to eat nearby.

I know we are going to Storytellers for at least one luch/dinner.

Times in the parks that week currently look like

DL 8AM>12 MIDNIGHT
DCA 10AM>10PM

It seems Disneyland has been having problems with their new fireworks show. It is so popular, and best viewed from in front of the castle, that they've been having huge crowds with no where to stand, and getting people out of the area afterward is just as bad. Last weekend they tried a new experiment. Don't know if they'll keep it, but I'm guessing they might. They have reversed the Electrical Parade in DCA making it harder for people to watch the Electrical Parade and then zoom over to DL in time for the fireworks. I'm sure it will disapoint a lot of people, but if you've ever been stuck in front of the castle jammed in with 500 of your closest neighbors, you realize that it does help. They also try to get people to stay after fantasmic instead of rush out to the castle area. The problem is by about 9:15 mainstreet all the way up to the castle is stand on top of people room only, and getting an influx of people from DCA and Fantamsic makes it even worse.

If I hear any more I'll let you know, but at the moment, you might want to plan not to see fireworks and DCA on the same day. You can see them from the plaza area and even from DCA, just not all the effects of the castle, etc.

Hello fellow cruisers. The lanyards are here!!! I will begin sorting them into envelopes and get them to the PO tomorrow. As of right now I have about 30 extra, if any newbies would like to get any, PM me and I will make those arrangements. The look totally awesome!
