I know each passenger (over 21) is allowed to bring on a 6 pack of beer and bottle of wine each.

I've read that these need to be brought on with your day bag or whatever you are bringing with you as you walk on board.

How do most people carry these on? Do they become cumbersome to carry all over the ship until your room is ready?

TIA!

To clarify: Each passenger 21 and over may bring onboard EITHER 2 bottles of wine/champagne (750 ml max) OR 6 beers (12 oz max). This allotment may be brought onboard on embarkation, as well as from ports of call.

Any beverages brought onboard must be in carry on bags, not checked.

Many people use a roller-type bag for their carryon.

Idk why I thought it was both, probably because we are only planning on the 6 packs anyway. But the roller makes sense. Thanks!

I bring a bottle of wine and a liter of gingerale in a backpack. Most backpacks today have multiple slots and one is usually padded for a laptop. Back in olden times it was a liter of gingerale and a bottle of rum - because it's a pirate's life for me.

Definitely re-up when you are in port. Also, many rum bottles look like wine bottles in the X-ray. I found the security is less worried about it at the port stops than the cruise terminal. Worst case scenario they hold it till after cruise and you can drink the memories when you get back home.

We did 4 bottles of wine in padded wine protectors and then used a rolling duffel bag as our day bag, so we have room for an extra outfit per person as well as all the other little things we wanted.
