Hi, I am new on this board.
We are a family of 7 and going to Disney in 2 weeks.
Can we bring our own food and drinks into parks?
We will be staying off-site and have refrigerator in the room, so storing food is not a problem.
I thought about making some sanwiches and bringing them into the parks. It will save us a lot of money.
Will they let us in the park with food?
Thanks a lot for all your help.

Yes, as long as it's not alcohol, in glass containers (except baby food).

IMO just use some common sense. Don't bring in your dorm size refrigerator or cooler and I think you'll be fine.

Definitely bring your own bottle of water. Water costs $2.50 a bottle in the parks.

No problem at all to bring in food. We hang a small flatish cooler on the back of DS's wheelchair. In it we put drinks, a package of lunch meat, fruit cups and beef jerky (DH's favorite).

We carried a tote bag with bread, cookies, and chips. We never got so much as a second look from security.

If you don't have anything to hang the bags on, it might be worth renting a locker to avoid toting it around. Or buy the drinks in the park and just carry sandwich meat and blue ice in an insulated bag.

I wouldn't bring sandwiches with mayo or anything that may spoil easily. Stick with peanut butter sandwiches, pretzels, nuts, granola bars, raisins. Anything that won't melt or spoil. It does get hot.

If you are staying off site and will have a car think about packing an ice chest in the car and have a picnic lunch out by the car. You can park hop at lunch and spend the 2nd half of the day in another park. this will alleviate having to lug sandwiches into the park and they will stay nice and cold on ice in the car. Everyone can also grab a cold water bottle for the 2nd half of the day!

We have packed lunches in the past and tried to freeze them the night before and store them in the lockers so they stayed chilled. Another time we froze Capri Suns and used them up against the sandwiches to keep them cold. It worked fine and the security had no problem with any of it.

That same year we had to drive a few hours after our last day in Disney and we packed a cooler in the car and had a picnic dinner on our way to the ocean.

This year we bought vouchers and found meals almost as cheap and definately more exciting and Disney-like!
