We'll be going to Disney in June with our kids, 13 and 15, and their friends, 13 and 15 also. We pass through customs in Toronto. Has anyone done this before? Any problems? I don't want to miss our connecting flight so I'm kind of nervous that they will give us a hard time. I'm making sure that they have passports and letters from their parents. Should I bring anything else?
THANKS SO MUCH!!! :sunny:

Hi we too are taking my daughters 11 year old best friend. Go to this website www.voyage.gc.ca and go under the sectionBefore you go then go to Children and Travel, then scroll down to the Custody section of this page. It will give you a sample consent letter that is really great and also any other information you may need.

Have a great trip !!

I have brought my DD's friend 2x now and will be bringing 3 more in May. I had no problem what so ever on either of my trips.

I did have a notorized letter from her parents but never was asked to show it.

When you bring other peoples children, as we too are are doing because our DD is by herself at age 11 so we figured a friend would increase her fun. (and let us relax a little more!!!) How much of the trip do you think the childs parents should be expected to cover, such as foods, park entrance fee, etc. I know for our daughters friend this may be the only chance she will ever get to go to Florida.

When we asked my DD's friend to come the first time it was my DD's birthday present and the only thing I asked she have is her own spending money.

This trip we told her she was welcome to join us again but had to pay her own airfare, ticket, and a portion of the food.

My other DD is now having 2 friends come as her birthday present. One I would have covered the cost for but she wants 2 so I am asking for $250 from each of them.

I think if you invite a friend for you DD they should not be responsible for anything.(JMHO) Most parents will give anyway.

My DD is bringing a friend when we go in march........last year when we went it was my oldest DD and her younger sister..they don't get along that well so i told oldest DD she could bring a friend........i asked the friend mom if she could give her $250 to bring for spending money.....i don't think thats too much to ask for, everything else is paid for! :earsgirl:

Sheesh, I must look suspicious or something - both times I've gone with just my daughter and I, I've had to show the letter of consent from my husband saying that he knew we were going! :rotfl: :rotfl:
