Don't even get me started on the Paris airport! Last year I did a Mediterranean cruise and I missed the ship because of the people at the Paris airport. Make sure you tell people that you have a connecting flight and DO NOT go through any exits no matter what they tell you!!! DO NOT ask where your gate is or else they will send you out of the appropriate area and you will have to go through customs, check yourself in for your flight, and go through security. We had an hour and a half and still didn't make it because we didn't know where to go and everyone we asked told us the wrong information. When I asked someone where to go to get to my flight, they directed us to a bus that takes you to the terminal where the next flight was, but if you have a connecting flight you're not supposed to leave the area where you get off your plane. Supposedly there's some way to get to the other terminals or something without leaving that secure area. Apparently there was also someone around where you get off your arriving plane that was supposed to help people with connecting flights. He didn't make himself known and when people came to speak to him, they only spoke in French, so I didn't know what was going on. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them for speaking French, I was in their country and that is their language, but it seems very few people know what's going on in that airport. Because we were told to get on the bus, it was like we had just arrived to the airport when we got to the terminal. We then had to go through customs, and then we were supposed to have to check ourselves in for the second flight to get our boarding passes, which we didn't know. Even though we showed what we had to an employee, they told us to go straight to security. At security, it doesn't matter if you're going to miss your flight, they still make you wait in line. We didn't find out that we didn't have boarding passes until we were at the front of the line. By the time we got to the place to check in, it was too late. Then they kept sending us back and forth between two really far terminals to try to get on the next flight. By the time we figured out where we were really supposed to go, they told us we might still be able to get on the next flight, which was the last flight that would've gotten us there in time to make the ship, if we hurried, but our luggage definitely wouldn't make it. We quickly called the cruiseline (Carnival, not Disney) to ask if they could do anything if our luggage got there after the ship left, and by the time we got back to try to get on the flight, it was too late for that flight as well.

Even on the return flight, we made sure to tell the people there that we had a connecting flight and we needed to go wherever it is they send people for connecting flights so we don't leave that secure area, and they STILL sent us to the wrong place. So again we had to go back on the bus, to the next terminal, check ourselves in, through security and to our gate. Luckily we knew what we had to do this time, the bus came quickly and the lines for check in and security were not very long, otherwise we wouldn't have made it to our connecting flight again. I still don't know exactly where you're supposed to go, but if you end up leaving that secure area (I don't know what it's called), you might not make your connecting flight depending on how long all the lines and wait for the bus are.

Did you finally catch up with the cruise?

Added you to the room tours and yes I can mail you the navigator to print yourselves no problem. It wont be completed until the start of August but Ill post then and who ever wants an emailed copy can have one? Does everyone want it emailed/downloaded or would they prefer I print them? Can you let me know ASAP?

Thanks

Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

email/download/link would work for the navigators. printing out our own copies means less you have to bring on board.

thanks for putting them together.

does anyone know if there is a length issue with these? I saw one today that was mesh...very light weight but 72 inches long and i wondered if that would be too long for the outside of the bathroom door. thanks.

It's my husband's renewed passport we're waiting for as well as our friend's two kids. My friend and I just keep saying we're going to have a great time either with or without them!
So cool you're getting married on Castaway!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder - in order to fax a request for the Ladies Brunch on 8/20

we need another 5 ladies to join in so that we meet the

minimum for the private room. :cheer2:

Query from my mother - have we got enough for the second date yet? She's just curious as she is planning on coming.

I don't think so but Chris will know for sure -- maybe it could be opened to non-ladies (AKA gentlemen) if necessary to make enough for the brunch? But that is up to Chris, of course.

Yeah cause isn't it only 4 down now?

Not sure, as I am in on the first one that already filled, but it does seem as though it should be possible to get enough interest for a second private brunch, particularly if the ladies were allowed to bring their spouses or whatever to make enough. When Chris checks this board, I am sure she will get back to everyone immediately, since I believe she needed to send in the fax tomorrow.

Hi all you DCL experts---I'm sure this is posted:rolleyes1 , but.... what is the

earliest we can board the Magic?:woohoo: Thanks, Mary

I've solved my formal night delima. I was out shopping yesterday and found a gown at Ross for $18. Couldn't pass that up. Then found some shoes for $12. :cool1:

Now let's just hope there's plenty of room in the bags for these.

It appears to be around 11:30 or 12. We were hoping to be able to get on earlier, but that's the time most of the other Med cruisers have been able to board.

Here is the post for the "Fish Extenders" Could you please check and see if it is right?

I have several lanyards that have not been claimed. If you ordered them and have changed your mind, please let me know. I want to be able to ship this out in time for folks to receive them for the cruise. I also have a growing waitlist and want those folks to get them in time if any are up for grabs.

Should I set a deadline and if so when? Looking for feedback.

Oh dear how stressful for you and what a terrible start to your holiday. It sounds like you didn't have a 'through' flight booked as your boarding cards for your connecting flight should have been given to you when you checked in for your first flight.

Hello Hello -

Okay - we are sooooooo close. We only need 2 more and we meet the minimum to reserve the room.

I'll post again early tomorrow.

Julie - inviting gents is up to those who are brunching - I am only the facilitator.
Hope you all had a great weekend.

Grandma are you also doing the tea? We had asked to be included , but haven't seen a list for that yet. Or I could have missed it, very easily. Just wondered what was happening.:hyper2:
