Getting more prepared for this cruise - went shopping today and bought a few things to wear, and a suitcase (after one of ours got ripped apart on the last cruise)

Have also booked 3 nights at the Beach Club resort after the cruise.
So all accommodation sorted, just need flights, cruise documents, packing, more shopping (starting to panic now !!!)

Here is a link for the fouantain: http://www.bcn.es/fonts/

Here is the info to get to Magic Fountains from Port Well you should take bus 21 to Paral·lel and after that, take Metro Line 3 or bus 57 or 157 to Pl. Espanya.

If you need further information please contact www.tmb.net

So you would leave the airport and go straight to the port---

We are doing the hop on hop off bus then a segway tour of Barcelona, but you may be too tired to do much that first day. The next day we are doing a tour of Montessart (sp?) on our own. There are plenty of Disney tours on both days to take if you wish. Barcelona is a pretty easy town to get around in. There is a group going to see the Magic Fountains that first night (I think they are meeting at 8:30 in the lobby of the Magic). We have second dining so may run out there a bit later :goodvibes

We did the On and Off Bus in May on our extra day in Barcelona after the EB repo. It was a great way to see the city.
We also did a Segway Tour with Barcelona Glides our port day. It was awesome!

Can I add my Lily to the ice cream social? She would love it. She's 6 1/2 (that 1/2 is very important!).

By the way, I grew up in Denver (Aurora, then Littleton). Been gone a long long time! I can't believe how much it's changed!

Thanks,

For all you new folks.
Here is the lanyard.

I have not heard from some folks who ordered and have not received payment from others. I am making a HUGE assumption that they no longer want them. I have some extra if anyone is interested. I also have ID pouches. The costis 2.02 for the lanyard and .55 for the ID puches plus the shipping and handeling which (in the US) has averaged aboout 1.84.

Time is running out to ship these so I want to get them shipped ASAP.

PM me if you are interested.
Dee, great picture and love my 'hand delivered' lanyards.....thanks so much for organizing this!

Hi there,

I am having trouble PM'ing, so am putting this information here. We are very excited to be joining all of you on the westbound. We are Jason, Tracey, Lily (6) and Benjamin (4). We are category 9, I think. Somewhere in the 2030 range for room.

I need to apologize for being so out of the loop lately. I have been traveling and trying to get 11 people ready for the cruise and trying to keep my hubby happy by staying off the computer. (I was on too much with the last cruise!) Well, anyway, I am a BIT overwhelmed and if I have neglected something, please forgive me. I am really looking forward to the cruise and meeting you all.

I have awards for fish extenders and will speak with Shutters about the Pirate night pictures. Is Tie night still on? I need to know when, if it was decided in my absence, so I can speak with Shutters. Slap me if I am forgetting anything--wouldn't be suprising!

I really appreciate all the work of those organizing things and getting the Navigator and Lanyards. You are making the trip more memorable by doing all this pre-cruise work.

Thank Sue. Mum'll (gailadams_uk) be flying Virgin as Dad works for them so they book direct through Virgin. They never book flights until the last minute cause they have to go through airline employee system. Thanks for tip though. Me and Lindsay booked ours before we knew Mum & Dad were coing and didn't think to look here. Gonna have to add that to my useful sites list for next time. :upsidedow

I have a bit of a SITUATION, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas or could help me out in some way.

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on the cruise Aug 21/07. I had hired a wedding consultant company in Gibralter to arrange a Vow Renewal ceremony for us that day on the Rock of Gibralter, as we are in port. I think something may have happened to the company (bankruptcy, fraud, I don't know, just guessing). Everything was going along great as I made the arrangements with them until I sent the $...now they have disappeared!! No answers to my e-mails, phone number is now out of service. I don't care about the $, but I am very disappointed!

The cruise is a complete surprise for my husband and daughters. The " wedding" was to be a surprise as well.

I'm wondering if I can pull together some services myself to try to salvage the experience. My problem is that I'm not familiar with Gibralter at all and I'm a bit reluctant to book anything else sight unseen! I did contact the one other big wedding co. in Gibralter, but they are already busy that day. I contacted Disney Fairytale weddings and they can't do a vow renewal for us as they already have the maximum booked (2) for our cruise. I begged them but apparently its not an area where they can be flexible, or offer other options.

I'm wondering if any of you that are sailing have any experience/interest in performing wedding ceremonies/renewals? I am not looking for anything in particlar, or complicated. I just think it would be nice to have someone to say a few words of a spiritual nature, to bless our union and our beautiful daughters. I would be happy to pay for the service of course. We would also welcome all fellow cruisers to share in our ceremony. Ideally I would like it to be on the rock. I have dresses for myself and the girls. I will rent a tux for DH, and presumably we can get some flowers from the ship.

Any thoughts?
I am grateful for anyone's help or advice :scared:

Sorry to hear about this. Maybe there is a vicar/reverend or something similar on the cruise that is willing to help? Have you tried contacting the tourist information in Gibraltar to see if they can advise? I would also contact citizens advice in Gibraltar to complain about the company to see if they can help? Actually it may be trading standards.

Not sure what I can offer to help but if you need a hand with anything give me a shout and I will do what I can?

Fingers crossed.

Lindsay

Lindsay

PS Let me know if the tie night is happening as I will need to edit the navigator

While I am on the topic of budget and money. I called DCL today to order the Med family pack. It was 69.00 and after tax it came to over 80.00 When I inquired why the agent advised me that the tax in Europe was very high. She said the tax on the shore excursions would be between 12 and 20%. I pd 16% for the med bags. Someone told me to call them back becasue the cruise was supposed to be exempt from vat, but I do not know if that is true. Can any of you that cruised the repo enlighten me on this. Thanks

I would like to know for sure becasue DCL just charged me to have something delivered to my cabin and she told me the shore excursions were taxed as well.

Ok, this is bothering me. I never imagined tax on shore excursions. I don't remember ever paying tax on them. The price listed was the price paid. Granted this was on various other cruise lines. But I've just never heard of this....hmm....gonna call my TA and see what she can dig up.

Trying to get my "act" together........ time is running out.

I was wondering... is anyone planning to dress up for "Pirate" night???

You'll have Captain Jack Sparrow, Pirate Elizabeth (from the 2nd movie) and Tia Dalma....in addition to various other swabbies, wenches and pirates.
