In an effort to try and eat breakfast in the room before we head out, I'm thinking of bringing some gluten free food with me...specifically Udi's bagels!

Has anyone done this before? Any tips??

Bring your bagels and cookies, crackers or anything else that you can eat. It is a lot easier knowing that you have something safe to eat than wondering if something is going to make you sick. Or worse, thinking something is safe and winding up sick.

You could even ship a box to your resort so it is there when you get there. I have never done this but I know it is possible.

Have a Great Trip! And stay healthy :tink:

I always bring some kind of snacks for me in the room. It's definitely a great idea and a safe one too! We're using Garden Grocer this time to get some specific items, like Boar's Head deli meat (which is GF) and rice chex but other items that aren't available we're going to try to bring down with us in our carry-ons. GG seems to be able to get a fair amount of GF items too! :thumbsup2

We like to eat quick light breakfasts in the morning so I pack a bunch of allergy safe dry goods in my suitcase (we've got to worry about a lot more than just gluten) and I order perishables and liquids from Garden Grocer. We fly Southwest so we get 2 suitcases each included with our flights. If I was flying any other airline, I'd just order it all from GG. Placing a GG order also allows us to order a couple cases of bottled water to save some money (actually snack credits since we always use a dining plan but that leaves the credits available for tasty treats rather than water).

If there are items you'd like that aren't on the GG list then you can always go with wegoshop.com as they allow you to specify brands and even which store to shop at. GG covers our needs and I prefer being able to just select items from a list so I stick with GG but wegoshop has just as good of a reputation.

That is exactly what I brought in May. I also brought peanut butter and jelly (we checked one bag). I also carried on a lot of power and nut bars to keep in my purse for snacks and breakfast and crackers.

When we go in December I may ship down a box. I have done this before when I have gone to conferences. I usually ship down peanut butter, jelly, cereal, bread or bagesl, nut bars or other power or snack bars, rice cakes, crackers or chips.

How do the bread/bagels hold up? I'm staying at BWV in a studio, and I'm pretty sure the fridge has a freezer, but if not - should i be planning on bringing a cooler of sorts? Or do you find that the bread stays well in the fridge?

I brought Udi's bread which stands up well in the fridge. At home I keep it in the freezer, but it did fine in the fridge at POFQ. I did get a plastic shoe box and packed the bread and crackers in it so they would not get crushed.
