I remember the last time we took DCL we were not allowed to bring any food back with us when we returned home. To me that means any food we got elsewhere.

My question is this...

We are visiting WDW prior to sailing, and we will be doing MNSSHP, which means we will end up with lots of candy. If we leave it in the car while cruising, it will melt and be trash. If I take it on board with me, will I be able to take it back off? Has anyone else gone through this? What do you do with food you bring with you?

Thanks....

As long as the individual pieces of candy are not unwrapped I do not think you should have a problem....since you brought it on with you. I know they will not let you bring off opened boxes/bags of snacks/booze that were brought on.

They told us last week that they raised the fine to something like $50,000.00 for anything taken off the ship.....so to be 100% sure call DCL and ask them directly.

I brought candy and peanuts from the flight down on the ship and then back off for the flight back home. No problems. Unless you have buckets of it it won't be a problem.

Let's see... how do you define bucket loads?

There are 5 of us all going trick or treating in the Magic Kingdom, where I hear they really fill up your bag with candy.

So.... 5 people, each with a big bag of candy... does that qualify as bucket loads? Then what?

It's opened food items that you can't take off the ship. Items that were clearly not bought in the states would also qualify, since it's primarily agriculture control (i.e. pests) that they're worried about. Wrapped/sealed halloween candy should be fine.

The 5 of us have been to MNSSHP and then onto the cruise for th past 2 years and have had no problem taking candy on board and taking off aagain any that was left. We plan to do the same again in a couple of weeks. You should be fine.
