I know you cant bring drinks, liquids on a plane but what about food? I am leaving early in the morning and would like to bring bagels for the flight down to feed the crew and keep them happy.

Actually, I hear that you can bring any beverage you purchase AFTER security onto the airplane with you. I'm assuming that most airlines will allow food as well. Some (in lieu of offering dinner on their flights) even encourage you to bring food.

You can bring any beverage purchased post-security (non-alcoholic that is) onto the plane. As for food, same applies.

Yes, you can bring the bagels, but if you want any spreads on them (cream cheese, jam, butter, etc.), you have to put that on the bagel BEFORE trying to go through security. Separate packets of spread are not allowed, because "they are gels." If the spread is already on the bagel, it will be allowed through.

I think the pilots and flight crew usually eat breakfast before the flight! :rotfl:

Sorry.....it's late and I am in a sarcastic mood. I couldn't resist. ;)
We brought snacks galore for DS1 in September, when the restrictions were still tight. No problem. Have a great trip!

your response is amusing

so how about packaged cookies, not opened? can we bring those thru security?

As long as the food isn't liquid of gel, it's fine. Bagels are fine. Bagels with cream cheese on them are also fine. But packets of cream cheese to put on bagels might be a problem if some TSA agent decides that cream cheese is too gel-like.

Same rules go for sandwiches (mustard on sandwich = OK; mustard packet not OK) salads (dressing on salad = OK; dressing on side not OK) etc.
