Is it okay to bring snacks or drinks into these parks? If not, is it like DL, where the rule is not enforced? I'm trying to figure out a budget for food on those two days.

I *believe* the official policy for both parks is no outside food or drinks, but I have seen people bring some things in, and I have personally brought small "snacks" when my kids were younger and bottled water into both in my backpack. However, I did have a friend that had her lunch (sandwich, apple) confiscated at Sea World! :scared1: So small things might be OK, but not a full meal.

BTW, I think the food is expensive, not very good, and not big enough to share at both places. We usually eat lunch at the park, then find dinner some where close to the park afterwards.

When we went to LL we brought our lunch in a cooler that we left in the car. The parking lot is really close to the entrance (not like at DLR) so it was really easy to just walk back to the car to get our lunch. We sat down to eat it on the grassy area that is along the side of the parking lot which was nice. The ground was a little bit wet when we went so bring a blanket of some type if you try this.

Not sure about SW since we just bought food in the park when we went. I think the meal that was the best deal for us was the shamu picnic. It was about $12 (same price we would have paid for food in the park anyway) and we got reserved seats for the shamu show and the food was pretty good too.

SW is very strict about this policy. You are not allowed to bring in anything but bottled water. They check all bags at the front and have trash cans where they make you throw it away if it is anything other than bottled water. The only exceptions are things like baby formula/food or things for diabetic emergencies.

SW has a "no outside food" policy. They check the bags before you enter, but not very well- just a quick peek inside your purse. I would imagine if you tried to bring a big ol' bag of food they wouldn't let you. But we just have a bunch of snacks and have never had a problem. (we are AP holders and go on a regular basis).

It's not that I'm "cheap", but I really dislike that they force you to buy "junk" if you want a snack. We're not big "cotton candy" and "churro" snackers. I'd rather my kids have fruit or crackers or something a little more healthy than the stuff they sell there.

I took 4 sandwiches into LL. I don't remember what we carried them in, I guess a backpack & we had no problem.

LegoLand is super lax about outside food. I was a member when my DD was age 2 to age 9 and we took lunch with us almost every time we went. Sandwiches, fruit, you name it.

People with strollers have tupperware filled with cut up veggies and dip.....LL seems quite fine with it.

SW is more strict. I always get in with my DD's and my sandwiches or bagels in the bottom of my purse, but maybe I am just sneaky like that.:)

I contacted both parks recently about this issue since we will be leaving in 14 days. I have diabetes, so it is a must for me to be able to bring things into the parks. SW says you have to have a doctors note in order to bring food in. Legoland says you have to speak with a guest relations and/or security person first in order to bring it in. I would think that these parks should be just as easy as DL, but only time will tell.

We are AP holders to Sea World, and I bring in little snacks for my girls all the time (but we either eat meals in the park restaurants, or keep our cooler in the truck and return to eat). They don't do the world's best job of checking. I use a diaper bag backpack (that looks like a regular backpack) and put the little snacks in a hidden pocket. Don't know if that's ok or not, but I would much rather have my little ones snacking on organic crackers than funnel cakes, especially when they're probably going to have pizza for lunch.
