I am letting my DD bring a friend (both 13) on our next Disney trip. I would appreciate any suggestions on what I need from her mom, i.e. insurance information. Thank you!

You will also need a signed letter from her parent giving you permission to seek medical treatment if she should need it while she is away from home.

pack extra fem products that they feel comfortable or would feel comfortable using, if they have or haven't started yet. Carry a spare with you. I always forgot such things as a pre-teen , and ended up in embarassing situations.
with that talk to her mom about pain meds for cramps etc. Even if she hasn't started yet she could at anytime ;).

Remind mom to pack extra undies and pants/shorts.

allergies?

Hopefully her mom helps her pack, I always forgot stuff at that age.. could you put together a checklist for them?

Another thing I always liked having was an extra swimsuit so I never had to squirm into a wet one ;).

She also might like to bring her own pillow, that strangely used to be a must with me when traveling.

Spare money.. and notes of things Mom doesn't want her to buy.

HI there, We took our daughters BF to Disneyland with us like 8 times Hawaii 6 and WDW 3. Yes, it is like having 2 kids not one :). They act like sisters not jsut BF. OK on to the question :

Insurance information
Notorized letter to treat child by DR. It does need to be notorized.
list of meds and schedule if child is taking any meds regular
Telephone numbers for 24.7 when you are away.
How we did the money --spending issue is -- we paid for everything -- plane tickets, annual pass, food, any extra fun or sightseeing. We only asked that if we gave our daughter 100 dollares spending that Ashleys parents did the same, If they gave less we gave less to -- worked both ways. That did not include the additional money she would get to buy her brother a gift. I told you they were like sisters LOL. If I bought say an out fit for my daughter I would also buy one for Ashley and they had to be matching LOL. I swear I had twins.
Make sure the child has stayed with you alot and respects your authority.
(Ashely would go for weekend and week trips with us when she was 5/6. We would usually only be an hour or 2 away from home so to begin with we could have diven back if need would have come up.) We did take a 14 day trip to Dl and SC when the girls were in the second grade. Yes, Ashley was allowed to travel with us. She did great -- you want to make sure she is a good traveler.

On a trip to WDW-- Ashley had an ear infection so had front desk get us set up for the clinic they use for employees-- this one will transport you both ways--I only had a written signed letter to get treatment. I am so glad I asked with out saying who I was, They would not have accepted that so be sure to get notorized ok. I lied and paid cash and just said she was my child. I know not good but had no option and would do it again . i was in communication with her parents during the whole visit :) . Love cell phones.

Hope this helps

Patty ---

take lots of pictures the girls will talk about this trip forever. Well my two do -- and it si so much fun to hear them talk about how much fun they had and the memories they made being BEST FRIENDS.

good to know when we take my daughter's bf . . .granted she is always over my place and is like my 4th kid, but i would have never thought of the notarized thing. . . wonder is scouts know this, cuz they have us sign a treatment permission slip that is not notarized. . . hmmmm. . . perhaps each state is different???

whenever my dd goes to her friend's i make sure she packs things "just in case". . . cuz you never know when aunt flo makes a visit at that age. :rotfl2:
