I have been talking to a lot of people on the transportation part of the program. Though it would be nice to just rely on disney transportation, I think it would be nice to bring along my car in case something happens with the bus system. What is everyone's thought on that?

If you have a car you can bring then bring it.

Also be firm with roomies and co-workers that you aren't a driving service so if they are going to be asking for rides they need to help with gas. You can still use the bus for work or to go hang out in the parks but with out a car you can't go anywhere that isn't covered by the bus with out relying on people or Uber/Taxis.

I was leaning more towards bringing my car, but I feel like there is a lot of steps into allowing you to have it in Florida. Maybe I am just overthinking everything.

You just have to provide proof of insurance with your name on the insurance but not necessarily the lead insured driver and vehicle title (in your or your parent's name is what I've heard it has to be in) and your ID. Not that hard at all.

Your name has to be listed on the insurance, I had an issue with that on my first program. Otherwise, you don't need to do anything else. If you can bring your car, do it. I drove to work everyday and it took probably an hour and overwhelming stress off of me from the bus system.

Most DD's friends did not have cars, they were coming from too far to bring them. She had hers.

It is not necessary since you will probably have plenty of friends/roommates who do, and groups can do errands together.

That said if it's easy to bring it then I would.

definitely bring your car, if you can! during my first cp, i decided not to bring it because i could use the transportation provided! However, I had to take the bus that came 2 hours early to make sure I wasn't late because the next bus time would be cutting it too close. It got so tiresome that a family member offered to drive my car down and fly back! After I had my vehicle, it was a lot more enjoyable!

Thank you so much. I saw on the website that you had to buy a decal for the car, is that so that they know you're registered in Florida?

It is just so they know what apartment complex you should be allowed to park over night in. You aren't suppose to stay in another apartment overnight so if you are visiting a friend at Vista Way and say live at Chatham they'll know you broke the rules when they check the cars after 1am (or 2am whatever the time was). Also after that cut off time you are allowed to drop people off but not stay so they make you loop right back out.
