Bring your own snacks - Sea World?

I was reading the Sea World website and I *think* I read that outside food is NOT permitted. Anyone have experience with this? Can we not bring granola bars or anything like that?

We always take canned drinks and crackers or something like that in our backpacks to snack on and we've never had a problem with it. :)

Just so that you know, while the other poster has not had a problem with it, I have known many people who were stopped with even just one snack, so YMMV.

OP, have you opted NOT to go with the all-day dining? You were posting questions about the all-day dining plan in an other thread, so it appeared that it was something you were considering.

Just a reminder that SW's all-day dining is unlimited (unlike Disney's quick service plan which has a maximum number of food entitlements per day). You can get as many drinks and snacks from the restaurants as you want throughout the day, so there really is no need to bring in outside food if you are planning on taking advantage of the dining plan. And if its a concern, not all snack foods at SW are unhealthy.....you can get fruit cups, muffins, side salads, pickles, etc. (or even a slice of pizza).

Thank you! We were thinking about getting the all-day dining, but have decided against it - for this trip anyway. We're only planning on having 1 meal in the park (lunch). We want to see as much as we can since we're only there 1 day and thought that if we could just sort of eat on the go (i.e. granola bars), that would tie us over until the park closes at 7pm. I would definitely consider the all day dining on future trips though, when we're not rushing as much to see everything. Thanks again for all the info!

Are those people trying to take a cooler in? We put our drinks and snacks in our backpacks and have done so every time we have visited. Not arguing, just curious as I've never had anyone say anything about it. :)

I take a regular size backpack in with a small school lunch container and had had no problems. I live in Orlando so visit alot with the annual pass.

Just remember that the packaging has to be animal safe. I have heard that juice boxes with plastic straws have been confiscated.

Nope, it was one bag of trail mix in each instance.

I wasn't allowed to bring in granola bars the other day but when I went in to watch pets ahoy I got to sit next to a family who brought out a feast from their bag including granola bars, grapes, crackers, chips, and sodas and other items, half of which they left on the floor.

I wonder why Sea World is so inconsistent with this issue??

I agree it would be nice if they would set a rule and keep it. I have never tried that's why we do all day dining. Of course if you have a back pack with lots of small compartments you could hide them in there. I have never had them open up the front zipper pouches of our bag.

Now I'm wondering if we'll have a problem next week when we go because we plan to take canned drinks and probably snacks, too. It never crossed my mind that someone would say something and it's not like we ever tried hiding it.

Now THAT would bug me if I couldn't take in food and I saw someone else doing it. Although people like that are probably part of the reason it isn't allowed. Seriously, they couldn't eat outside somewhere?? AND throw away their trash???

Here now and at bag check-in with our snacks and drinks was said word for word, "You're planning to be thirsty today". No issues at all.

I have called their customer service regarding this issue twice and each time i have gotten the same answer. You are allowed to carry in a small soft sided cooler with individual size drinks and individual size snacks. No picnic type items (sandwich stuff) or family size bags of snacks are allowed. I called again a few weeks ago to make sure nothing had changed over the last year and they told me it was the same policy.

Soft side coolers are fine. Both Aquatica and SW are the same .. NO JUICE BOXES WITH STRAWS. We usually pack lots of water, fruit, lunchables, lunch meat, cheeses, yougurt. We have a larger group so we sometimes brind 2-3 small coolers with us, and they ride on the base of the stroller on hung on arms of wheelchair. In the bookbag goes things like granola bars, chips, pretzels, candies, etc.
