My kids are young (5 and 4) and they love pool toys - diver things and such. Do you bring your own? How about beach toys like buckets, shovels, etc. Either I'm overthinking this or I'm sure I'm going to need a whole separate suite case for "stuff".
Is there an opportunity to buy or "rent" beach toys when we get there or is it best to bring my own?

Sometimes I buy a few small plastic animals for my 3 yr old twins to play with in the sand. I think Target sells a whole tube of these plastic sea creatures for $4.99. I have also brought a few of those squishy pool balls (they are roughly tennis ball size but very soft and squishy) for the older kids and my DH to throw around while playing in the ocean. Those are always available at the dollar store. Jess[/QUOTE said:
I've done this too when my DD was younger. Those tube animals from Target were a hit once she started getting bored --- mamma brought those out!Gave momma more hours of lounging time with my Bahama Mama!!

According to Disney's site you are not allowed to bring your own pool toys on board or to Castaway Cay.
Does this mean no beach ball? I bought one for my DD and her friend to play with at CC.
I found this on the Disney website FAQs:
The following recreational equipment is neither permitted on board nor on Castaway Cay:
Wagons
Segways
Musical instruments
Scuba gear air tanks and dive knives
Fishing rods/poles
Inline skates or wheeled shoes
Skateboards
Surfboards/wave boards
Inflatable floats/pools
Bikes
Kites
The following recreational equipment is permitted but with the following restrictions:
Coast Guard personal flotation devices (PFDs) and flotation sewn into the bathing suit for safety. However, recreational floating devices such as floats, rafts and fun noodles cannot be brought on board and are not permitted in the pools or on Castaway Cay.
Golf clubs, as long as they are stored in your stateroom.
Telescopes.
I checked the information under the excursions for Castaway Cay though and the tubes that they offer for rent are for children 5 and up, and my grand daughter will only be 3 I wonder if they do allow items for the younger children to use on the beach?
I understand not being able to use floats etc in the pools onboard, because it would get over crowded.
I agree - no way to play with toys in the pools, but they will be the envy of all the kids if they have some sand toys for beach time! I had Shirley of the Perfect Gift deliver a "basket" to our room the first day which consisted of 3 big beach buckets and a bunch of other sand toys, plus snacks. We thought we'd just leave them there at the end of the trip but the kids had so much fun with them we decided to bring them back as carry-ons and it worked out fine. In fact, the buckets were also used to store all the little FE goodies all week. My kids made lots of friends in Cozumel and Castaway Cay because they had all the fun sand stuff.![]()
Go to Google and type in: Perfect Gift Port Canaveral. They are extremely wonderful people and we had the Sand Pail's delivered for our girls to our stateroom and they were there when we arrived. A pail and shovel filled with juice drinks and snacks - it was a wonderful surprise for them.
Yes, a couple of dollars more than from a store, but we didn't have to pack them and the girls flipped when they found they had gifts in the stateroom before the cruise.
We will do it again next year without question.
