Bring us a Shrubbery!! May 25-June 1, 2007!!

Jay and I are both at that point where we've begun checking the 10-day forecast for Orlando on weather.com. :rotfl2: Anything to make the trip inch ever closer, right? 12 more days...the single-digit dance is just on the horizon.
YAY!!! :cool1:

And since I'm having my colonoscopy tomorrow I'm on a no-food diet for the next 24 hours. Actually I haven't eaten since about 6PM last night...so hungry. :sad1:
:grouphug: Hoping all goes well today!

So, a little while ago I hijacked your thread asking for advice on ADRs for the trip I am planning for November. I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and in case you're curious here is what I decided:
Day 1 - No ADRs so we can spend all day stuffing ourselves at the F&W Festival
Day 2 - 12pm lunch at Whispering Canyon & 6pm dinner at CA Grill
Day 3 - 1:20pm lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine In & 8pm dinner at Raglan Road
Day 4 - No ADRs so we can spend all day stuffing ourselves at the F&W Festival (again)
Day 5 - 9:30am breakfast at Kona Cafe & 6pm dinner at Boma

Thanks again for your help! :thumbsup2

One more quick question - When you are celebrating something special do you mention it when you make your reservation or do you mention it when you check in for your reservation that day? We are taking this trip to celebrate my husband & my 1 year anniversary and my sister & brother-in-law's 6th anniversary and I've heard it's a good idea to let them know. I just need to know when/how to let them know.

 Hope you are doing OK!

Single digits are right around the corner!!!

You'll be in WDW before you know it! :dance3:

Yeah for Brenda, she got through another one of those lovely procedures!
Don't you love the way you feel when something you don't want to do is over?
Reminds me, I need to make an appointment for one.

Deb

Brenda,

I have been living your life vicariously (and I probably just spelled that wrong!) through your trip reports and this pre-report. You are an absolute hoot!

I am an unabashed foodie! I was raised in food service by my parents. My father actually studied at the Cordon Bleu in Paris (I was born there, then kicked to the US 3 months later. France has let me return once. That should speak volumes about my character-- they love Jerry Lewis and tolerate me!). My dad ran Officer's Clubs in the military (fringe benefit -- living in Bermuda and getting my cheek kissed by Paul Macartney when I was 9:hippie: ) and then ran a country club when he retired (fringe benefit there --spilling ice tea on Al Gore's sleeve during his first campaign run and getting kissed on the check by Pat Sajak. :confused3 Paul is more memorable, but I bet Pat can spell better.)

Anyway, I love your descriptions, pictures and the recipes that have been swapped are great! I hope all the tests were great in the end (I know, bad pun, but couldn't help myself) and that you are raring to go get that Shrubbery! :cheer2:

June

It always makes me SO hungry just knowing that I'm not allowed to eat!! Oh well, just think of it as a pre-trip diet! You get to make up for all the stuff you miss today at WDW, where the food is always better! (And often shaped like things!)

It's true - when you can't eat you're starving, when you can eat you don't want to. All I could think about yesterday was food...ice cream...cheese...mickey waffles. :rotfl2: You nailed it Crystal...food shaped like stuff tastes better!

Did Plankton get you a mother's or minion's day card? I'm yet to get anything from my cats. Humph!

Oh no, nothing of the sort. That smacks of sentimentality and Plankton would never be a party to that. And I too, am waiting, for something from our cat (other than a hairball on the kitchen floor). ;)

:grouphug: Hoping all goes well today!

Thanks, V! I survived and had to go back to work today, so I guess that's a :yay: followed by a :sad2:

Hope everything goes well today!

And thanks to you, too, Jen. I hope you're feeling better! :goodvibes

Your ADRs sound yummy - I'll be interested to hear what you think of Boma once you've been there. We've never tried it but have heard good things. Jay and I aren't big buffet eaters, so unless it's for breakfast we usually steer clear of them. And good for you, setting aside a good chunk of time for eating around the world!

One more quick question - When you are celebrating something special do you mention it when you make your reservation or do you mention it when you check in for your reservation that day? I let them know when I make the reservation so that it's noted in the ADR system, but that's no guarantee that the restaurant will do anything. It kind of depends on the day and the time and the CMs who are working. I would also say something when you check in and ask that they help you make your celebration more special.

Good luck!

 Hope you are doing OK!

Thanks Michelle. I'm here - waiting on results. Have two follow-up appointments next week and then woo hoo...off to Disney we go! We hit the single digits tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Deb

Hey Deb, thanks for posting! It's always a good feeling when this test is over, isn't it? I always celebrate with a Big Mac...healthy - no; satisfying - yes. ;)

Hi June and thanks for posting! I'm so glad you've enjoyed all of our crazy adventures! :goodvibes

France has let me return once. That should speak volumes about my character-- they love Jerry Lewis and tolerate me!).

Oooohhhh...Cordon Bleu...I'm drooling on myself just typing it. ;)

I think maybe I should have been French...I love those old Jerry Lewis movies, too. But I'm not snooty...you can come back to our trippies as much as you want - all are welcome here! :goodvibes

That is all so cool - you should sit down right now and write your own trip report that covers all of this! When you were kissed by Paul was that post-Beatle? I love the Beatles...my favorite group of all time.

Anyway, I love your descriptions, pictures and the recipes that have been swapped are great!

Thank you so much - I hope to have some great food pictures to share with everyone when we come back next month and I hope you'll stick around to let me know what you think.

I hope all the tests were great in the end (I know, bad pun, but couldn't help myself) and that you are raring to go get that Shrubbery! :cheer2:

June

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That was great - thanks!!! :thumbsup2

And right about now, both Jay and I are ready to nab a whole lot of shrubberies!!

Thanks again for stopping to say hello - I love hearing from new readers and current readers and fly-by-readers and readers who never meant to read in the first place and...well, you get the picture. ;)

:goodvibes Glad you are feeling better and that the procedure is over!

Thank you so much.

If there is anything good about it, at least it helped me lose a few pounds! :goodvibes

How are you coming on your planning? Duh...I guess I should go back over and catch up on your pre-trippie... :lmao:

I'm glad that you were at least able to go back to work! Good luck with the results. Have you packed anything yet? :)

Thank you - you are absolutely right. It's much better to be at work than stuck in the hospital. :thumbsup2

Have you packed anything yet? :)

No formal packing yet, but I've started putting aside certain things that we will be packing. We'll do most of our packing on Thursday night - we live dangerously out here in St. Charles County. :lmao:

I did get all of our paperwork organized and rescued our airline reservations from a very untidy stack of papers yesterday...that must count for something. ;)

Abso-ma-lutely! I have a packing list, but that's about it. I remembered to put the paperwork on the list - does that count?

I may be the only person who didn't know this, but I like to share; so if there's a chance that anyone reading here didn't know about the fabu discount being offered by Ghiradelli... come a little closer and I'll tell you all about it.

If you go to Ghiradelli's web site (Ghiradelli.com) and click on the link Bake With Us, you will then see an option to sign up for Choco-mail.

I strongly urge you to do so.

Upon being registered, you will receive an email from Ghiradelli that will give you 20% off an on-line order, or 20% off a purchase in one of their stores or in their ice cream parlor.... where's that drool icon when you need it?

I signed up on Sunday and had the email the same day - printed it out and have it tucked safely away with our other paperwork.

We're going to use the 20% in the store and then use the 10% DVC discount in the ice cream parlor. I love money-saving offers that get me to spend more money than I would have if I'd never come across the offer in the first place. :rotfl2:

Thanks for sharing the info about Ghiradelli; I'm on my way to get choco mail.
I'm glad you made it thorough the test.
I have lurked on all of your other trip reports. I don't post too much, but I wanted to thank you for sharing. I can't wait to hear all about this trip; I'm sure you guys will have a great time.

Thank you so much.

Weight loss is the only silver lining when it comes to being sick or having to go through something traumatic or a crumby procedure. ;) How long until you get the results?

The planning is coming along. Like the rest of us, I could plan until forever! I love it so much. :goodvibes

Hey Brenda! Glad to see you're back, and I hope you're feeling okay!

Mmmmmmm, chocolate. Must sign up for Ghiradelli choco-mail . . .

Ooh I'll try that, when we were there they were giving free samples which were lovely but as it was so hot we didn't buy anything as it would just be melted straight away, have to buy at night time :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Great idea! Another thing to put on my to-do list...

Thanks for the tip about Ghiradelli! mmm... chocolate...

If anyone is looking for other tips like this, mousesavers.com has a bunch. That is where I found orlandocoupons.com where you can print out free coupons for some of the restaurants at Downtown Disney. I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking about it for our trip in November.
