Bring on the MAGIC- May 2016 solo PTR, Final update 5/6

Plans sound great. I think you'll be fine with your HS FP+ plans ... it may not be perfect, but you can make it work. It's a small enough park that the extra walking shouldn't be too bad.

And yeah, that Rivers of Light thing is pretty ridiculous. I can't believe they dropped the ball like that. Oh well, it just means you'll have to come back next year to see it!

8 more days!!!!!

Single Digit Party party:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One more shift tomorrow and then I'll be on my way to New York !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had the day off work today. Put on some Disney tunes in the background of course, got some things done around the house, redyed my hair, and of course packed. I am nearly done with the packing, just a few things more that will be done tomorrow when I get home from work.

I've spent the past week and a half or so catching up on some movies: Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Brave, Cars, Monster's Inc, Up, Bug's Life, Toy Story 2. Today I rewatched Dumbo. All really wonderful movies. I always ended up crying in at least one scene. Well except for TS2.

I am still in the process of figuring out my MK days. It's looking like the first day will be concentrated on Fantasyland and then 2 attractions in Tomorrowland after Wishes. I've had to readjust what is doable for that first day since I will be leaving the park for dinner. The second day will be everything else (meals will be in park, and MK stays open until midnight). Hopefully I'll get to do all I want, but the main thing is going to enjoy myself and fully take in all the magic.

These are my MK FP+:
Day 1
Peter Pan's Flight
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM
Meet Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall
2:40 PM - 3:40 PM

Day 2
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Haunted Mansion
12:15 PM - 1:15 PM
Splash Mountain
1:35 PM - 2:35 PM

Since we're talking about Magic Kingdom I'm going to share a video that has to do with my most memorable attraction there. Sing together with me: It's a world of laughter.... It's a small world after all.......It's a small small world.
Way back in the beginning of this PTR I mentioned a Disney loving Youtuber I follow, Maxwell Glick aka mrcheezypop. Two years ago he did a tribute sing along video for the 50th anniversary of Small World. He asked viewers to record themselves singing the song and encouraged us to sing in a foreign language. Now I am no singer by any means but I thought it would be fun. And then I decided that since I live in Israel now I would learn the Hebrew version. Took me so many takes till I got it right without messing up.
And now without further ado I present to you:

I LOVED THE VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ze olam katan me'od, ze olam katan me'od :dance3:

And I can't believe you'll be there in like a second!! Will you be updating from NY?
So excited for you!!!!!!!
party:

SINGLE DIGITS!!! I am so excited for you!!

That "it's a small world" video is really cool!
I have a confession ... whenever I ride IASW, I try to sing the song in Hebrew. I know the first two lines and the chorus and that's it ... it drives my sister crazy. I feel like I should know more of it (I definitely learned it in school at some point), but somehow I just can't remember it.

Have an amazing trip!! I can't wait to read all about it when you get back!

My only prior exposure to the Hebrew lyrics was from a Shalom Sesame episode. They sang it in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Definitely did not learn it in school. So I had to google it then and by now I don't remember. But I like your idea of singing it in Hebrew when riding. Need to relearn those lyrics.

I also remember it a little from the Shalom Sesame episode - that's probably why I remember as much as I do.
But I also think we learned it on Yom Haatzmaut one year - I remember learning Yerushalayim Shel Zahav and it's a small world. Really, only one of those makes sense for Yom Haatzmaut...

I need a video of you singing it on the ride Odelia! :D

I second this motion!!

Only 3 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So close! Part of me can't believe it's almost here.
Well actually my vacation already started since Monday morning when I finally arrived in New York. But let's backtrack a little.

My last shift at work was Sunday morning. Got home at around 4pm, finished packing the final items, talked with my mom and grandma on the phone, and then just hung out here until it was time to leave so I could catch the train to the airport. All the way to the airport I had a particular tune in my head which to some would be annoying but not to me ;).
When I arrived at the airport I had a mission- a food mission (but of course, what else?). Last time my mom visited, I met her at the airport when she was leaving. We noticed a bakery that looked to have some interesting and tasty treats. Unfortunately we spotted it after we had eaten some meh food, so didn't buy anything at that point. Obviously I just had to stop there this time. And oh boy am I so glad I did. It's a bakery called La Farina located on floor G (aka Arrivals and Greeters) to the right of where arrivals come out. The elevator at the airport train station arrives on this floor. After looking around I chose two items (please excuse the poor iPhone quality):

Sweet Potato Quiche. I realized after I ate half that this would be good practice for my DR. This was an excellent portion for one person. Pastry was perfectly flaky and the sweet potatoes were melt in your mouth wonderful. Yum Yum Yum.

For dessert I spotted this little baby next to the cash register. I simply cannot resist lemon pie. And this did not disappoint at all! Everything from the buttery pastry base, to the perfectly balanced tangy/sweet lemon filling, to the fluffy merengue top. It was also quite rich so I could only eat half. Saved the rest for later (which I ate during the flight).

I am definitely stopping by there when I return. And would recommend it for anyone arriving/leaving.

So from there it was time to head over to baggage drop off and check in. There were 3 flights heading out to the NY area that night (1 to NY/Toronto, 1 to NJ, and another to NY). All were packed. Which is to be expected after Passover as visitors are retuning home. My flight was the final one scheduled to depart at 00:45. But according to the departure screens at the gate area there would be a slight delay to 1:20. Started boarding at 00:50. Around 2ish there was an announcement. Apparently according to regulations no planes depart from 1:30 to 4:30 am. Our flight was given an extension since it was late coming in to the airport. Unfortunately we missed deadline by get this- 40 SECONDS! Yes you read that right. That was exactly what the announcer (I'm guessing the pilot) said. Permission to depart DENIED. Plane headed back from the runway to the gate. We were given dinner vouchers as we arrived back at the terminal and told we would be leaving as early as possible when flights started up again. I was not planning on eating anything but realized if I didn't I would get hungry on the long 11-12 hour flight. There were 5 places to choose from and I went with a standard burger meal. There was still time when I returned to the gate so I started to watch a movie to pass the time- The 3 Caballeros. But after a few minutes I turned it off as my eyes kept closing. Bear in mind that since I had a morning shift before my flight, I was up since 6am the previous morning. So almost 24 hours. Soon enough it was time to board again and we took off at 5am to arrive in NY at around 10am. You'd think after all this I'd be sleeping for most of the flight. Unfortunately no. I slept for 2 hours in the beginning and for another hour sometime after that. At least there were movies to pass some of the time. Needless to say by the time I arrived in NY I was overtired and cranky. Didn't help matters that I was having problems with my phone and so had trouble messaging my mom when I was close to leaving the airport and the cold rainy weather (seriously what is up with that? All week it's been cold and rainy. It's MAY. It's supposed to be SPRING!). I was extremely *****y to my mom when I finally spotted her. Not my proudest moment I'll admit and I wish I could take it back, but unfortunately time travel is not one of my specialties. A shower and some unwinding time after arriving at the house definitely helped brighten the mood.

Seeing as this post is long enough, I'll stop here. Will post an another update either later today or tomorrow.

That flight situation sounds like a nightmare! At least you made it to NY safe & sound ... albeit a little cranky.
And I'm with you on this weather. Why can't it stop raining???????
