Does anyone know the policy on bringing food into the parks? My DH and I went like 5 years ago and when we went I took a backpack and had chips, water, mini oreos, and a sandwich of each of us. Is it still ok to bring food into the parks at all? If so what is ok and what is not ok.

We brought a backpack with sandwhiches and drinks and snacks ( oh - we went the week after Thanksgiving) and we had no problems at all. We even used a small soft -sided cooler a few times with no problems.
I think I read somewhere that rolling coolers and glass bottles and alcohol are NOT allowed.
Hope this helps!

We don't usually bring food into the parks (just more stuff to carry) but I can tell you that the way they search the bags...they are just looking for weapons, etc. & would not care what kind of food you bring in.

We have brought snacks in once or twice....they definitely saw it in our bags during bag check & never said anything.

I think it's safe to say, "You'll be fine".

In a soft cooler each day we packed water, juices, snacks, and fresh fruit with no problem at all. :) It was nice to have snacks on hand at the parks and it saved us a lot of money.

COOL! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the help! I think we might save money by bringing in some food to eat. The way DH eats (he eats more often and more then I do) might be helped out with this. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for posting this question and thanks for the replies. We leave Saturday for 6 days of sun and fun at the parks and plan to bring a soft-sided cooler that fits underneath the stroller with some snacks and juice. I was getting a little worried that we may be turned away. Glad to know that this is okay.

Thanks again!

We brought a soft sided cooler each day we went into the parks, one day while being checked the guy even made some kind of joke about the big sandwich I had packed in there, no problems at all!

No Food Allowed but....

The official policy is no food can be brought into any of the parks and they will check your bag(because of 9/11)but from what i've read it is never enforced. Shouldn't be a problem. :wave2:

Another veteran here letting you and everyone else know there is ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM with taking as much food as you want into the parks. As you read earlier, no "hard-sided" coolers, no glass (except baby food jars), etc., but everything else is fair game. People who bring food into the parks aren't getting away with anything. Believe me, the security guards root through the bags pretty well (and NOT in a rude manner), and they see everything. On two different days we brought lunch for the 6 of us, plus snacks and bottled water, and on all the other days we brought bottled water, snacks and a couple emergency PB&Js.

Mangia!

We have never had an issue with the types of items you mentioned, at WDW or another other park for that matter. As long as it is not taken to extreme I don't think they care. It's when these hosers are going to try to pull the buffet cart behind them through the front gate that will ruin it all for us. . .
